Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

In response (this is Peter, haha) the books would still be great without the romances. The romances were just added bonuses, and that's how it should be here, really. I really miss having the plots going, so that needs to be the focus, not transferring the hormone-driven problems of RL to here. While having romances added to the plot makes for fun, without the plot, there's very little point.

Honestly, making a forum and a group takes all of about 5 minutes, the way you guys're depicting it is as though it's gonna be a massive part of the site, trust me, it'll be one of the last things on our minds.

I'm seeing a lot of a side issue coming in here, and trust me, the admins've been thinking a lot on the same pages as you guys have, we're not so different you know, haha. If you'll hang on i'm gonna have a topic in announcements sorting all that out with you, there's a few little things i feel we need to get onto you guys.

stalking couples' threads? Seriously? Sure, maybe if i had time i MIGHT be able to see the interest in such a thing, but i've gotta seem, it does seem more than a little weird to me Razz maybe find a partner of your own?

Ah well, keep your eyes on announcements, there'll be some stuff coming up there in the coming days.

Jess, I don't think you understand. The best couples on the site have stories worth telling, that integrate into the plot. They don't need a "couple's spot" because their stories are being told as part of their character's plot.

That's why we stalk them, not because we need to live vicariously through those characters, but because the stories they're telling are interesting and are worth reading.

If you're not reading anyone's threads but your own, you're missing out on a huge part of the site plot and a great opportunity to learn.

Also, most of my characters are aesexual, so the chances of them hooking up with someone are almost nil.

Well, it was fairly easy not to, don't you agree? I mean, i can't just read "Stalking couples is fun" and know that you mean the deep character plots behind it. And i'm not saying that we don't want them posting outside of the couple's spot, it's just a place for them to have dates and what not, i really don't see why there's a problem here beyond "I wont be able to stalk dating people."

Also, i barely have time to reply to my own threads, there's not a chance i could read other people's.

I haven't weighed in on this, but, okay, I will. First of all, a couples spot, i think is just one more location for couples to go to have some place romantic to meet. It isn't the location that makes or breaks the relationship or makes it more or less valuable to the plot. Its just a place, like any of the other many locations PA tries to give members as an alternative for using. Its up to the members to make good use of it, and to do good writing, no matter what location they post in.

As far as the couples' spot goes, I'm all for it. Its just one more place to try. Let's give it a shot and see what happens.

Mmm, the couple's spot isn't a predefined place, it's just a place for dates and the such, you could be in Rome, Paris, Madrid, Hogsmeade, London, anywhere really, but i found that it does improve relationships a touch.
