Gryffindor Boys Dormitories

Out of the side of his eye, Blake could see another kid. He had been there but hadnt said a word to him ever since he entered the dormitries. Was there something wrong with this kid? He wondered if this kid would ever talk. And right after he thought that.. The kid said something to him.

When the other kid said something, blake looked at him for a bit as though he was confused. Then he realized what he meant and nodded to himself. "Do you have a problem with me not shaking hands with Sam?" Blake asked the kid that had spoken up. It did confuse him on why this kid would care anyways.

"Yeah," Andrew spoke up, "Actually, I do. Shaking hands comes, I think, from an old tradition where men shook hands to indicated that their intentions were honorable and that they intended to be friendly and were not holding weapons. That's why we use our right hands, because so many people were right handed with their weapons.

"Anyway, it still means we intend to be friendly. So, if you won't shake hands, I can only come to one of two conclusions. Either, one, you don't intend to be friendly, and if not, just say so. And, two, you're a germaphobe. And if thats the case, we're good with it, just let us know so we don't offend you by offering again. But right now, it just looks like you're plain rude. So which of the three is it?"

Andrew knew Sam was assertive enough he didn't need Andrew to fight his battles for him, but Andrew didn't like just outright rudeness and he intended to speak up, regardless.

Ezra smiled, "Cheeto's a red fox. His favorite food is Cheetos, hence his name". The little fox rolled over onto his back, and purred a little. Ezra was sure that this fox was a bit odd with its purr. Foxes didn't purr, usually. Why did this one? It was a question that would surely bug him for a little while before he got his answer. Maybe foxes purr because they can and want to show it. That was a valid hypothesis, since these animals were smarter than most people. It didn't surprise him.

He looked over at the new kid, then glanced at everyone else, Andrew seemed to be unimpressed with the kid. He was likely in the same year as he was or younger, he didn't know. The guy seemed to look like a nice guy, but seemed germaphobic. Or unfriendly. Either or, it was a startling feeling. Maybe he had to be extra cautious around this person, and he hated having to do that. Having to go above and beyond like that.

Louis walked in and layed down on his bed. There was a couple of guys there. "Hi." He said. "Louis Weasley 6th year." He told them. He held his wand and then said "Lumos Maxima" hoping not to blind the other guys. He needed the light because where his bed was it was pretty dark. He wrote a letter to his mom and finished and then he stopped. "So what are your guys' name?" He said. He notice young looking one was acting rude but he didnt say anything.

Sam nodded and slowly lowered his hand, the boy had made his choices, that was his prerogative, and he wouldn't be one to argue with that, still, it wasn't as though any harm was intended. Then Andrew spoke up and Sam raised an eyebrow, he'd not picked Andrew to be much of a fighter, and though he'd seen the honorable side of him he'd not expected this.

"Andrew, it's ok, clearly he's been raised in a different way, we respect, if not expect a handshake, he clearly doesn't care for them. He's made his stance on this quite clear, leave him be," he said coolly, the boy seemed to be a prat, not the sort of person he'd particularly like to know. "Blake, it was nice to meet you," he said, before turning his attention to the next newcomer
