Sorry is just a word.

It was a bit after lunch and all Lucas had achieved today was that he was on his sixth butterbeer. He had been inside the Leaky Cauldron alot these days, mainly at night but today he couldn't wait and decided to come earlier than usual as he had been recently.

His hair was flat and unstylish and was wearing blue jeans with brown ugly joggers and a white v-shaped t-shirt. He was also wearing black sunglasses because he changed his eye colours alot..from sadness to anger and didn't want anyone to notice and ask him making him explain the story that would make him hurt.

"Another drink please, but a firewhisky this time, thanks.." Lucas said to the bar man. He was sitting on a stool, that was close to the bar for easy access and quick service. He sighed and drummed his fingers on the bar.

He hadn't even seen his sister for a while or been to his own restaurant. He also sometimes went to London to stare at the restaurant where he met Sophia, to reminisce their first meet. It was so...perfect to him. It was great and he ruined it because he ... he is an idiot, basically.

It was a Saturaday afternoon as Sophia walked through the crowded streets of London with on thing on her mind getting something to eat. Thinking about the corner cafe on the corner she remembered it was close on weekends which made her sigh. "I guess I'll go to the leaky cauldron then."said Sophia softly to herself as she walked towards her car and put her shopping bags in her car and got in and drove towards the leaky cauldron. After a few minutes of driving she parked her chair in front of the Leaky Cauldron and gotten out and locked her car with the beeper. As she pushed the door opened the bell tinkled above her head but she simply ignored it.

As she walked over towards the bar she gave the bar tender a soft warm smile. "May I have a butterbeer please?"Sophia asked him softly. As he nodded and gotten her a butterbeer and set it in front of her she gotten out her money and paid for it. "Thankyou sir, you can keep the rest as a tip."said Sophia winking at him as she walked off to find a table. As she found one near the window she smiled and walked over towards the table and set down. Getting the menu she looked at trying to decide what she wanted for she only ate here a couple of times. Sophia was wearing a tan and blue dress with purple and blue flowers on it with a mini blue jean jacket with brown show like boots. Her hair was down and curly cascading down the down of her back and her eyes were a normal chocolate brown.

There was a tinkle of the bell, and Lucas assumed it was another customer..or perhaps an order the restaurant needed. He didn't bother to look, he looked too many times today and it was never who he wanted it to be. An angel. He sighed and got his firewhisky and paid for it. He drank a bit of it and then herad someone order a butterbeer and looked.

To his dismay, it was Sophia. He gulped and almost forgot to breathe. He kept quiet and let her get on with whatever she wanted or needed. She paid for a butterbeer and let the bar man keep the change as tip. Definitely Sophia. Perhaps he had drank one too many butterbeers and firewhiskies that he passed out. He took off his sunglasses and slapped himself. Ouch! Nope, definitely awake.

He turned and watched her gracefully walk to a window booth. The same kind of booth they met in at a different cafe. He wanted to follow and talk to her. But he didn't want to be a bother, as at the dance when they last met, she just walked away from him. Did that mean she never wanted to see him again, or was it just for now?

Lucas picked up his firewhisky and put his sunglasses back on. He walked to the table Sophia sat in and sat opposite of her. He wanted to say a billion things to her, but wasn't sure what to say first. He took off his sunglasses and put them beside his firewhisky which he then picked up a drank a litte bit of. Silence.

Sophia must have sworn she heard someone sit down the opposite of her but maybe she was just imagining things. As she looked up from her menu to her dismay she seen Lucas in front of her which made her jump a bit. "Lucas oh my gosh you scared me, what are you doing here?"Sophia asked him as her eyes turned gold with concern in them. She haven't seen him since the dance but she was so upset that he left her she just walked away from him and cried. Sophia feels bad that she did that at that time but she was really hurt by him leaving.

As the awkward silence filled the air Sophia took a drink of her butterbeer and looked at him with her golden eyes. Sophia wanted nothing more then then run into his arms and cry but she held herself back for he wanted to give him a chance to speak. Sophia missed him alot lately and she wasn't herself when he wasn't around. There was only a couple of people who noticed it though and that was her sister and her parents for she faked smiles around everyone else but her sister and parents could read right through her. Deep down Sophia was a mess but she wasn't about to let Lucas see her pain.

The truth was Sophia loved Lucas more then anything and she wanted to tell him but she was still alittle hurt that he left her without a single goodbye. Sophia knew she shouldn't be acting this way but she felt like he didn't want her anymore. As she looked at him she started feeling that way once again for all he did was look at her through his sunglasses. As she looked away from him and down at her butterbeer tears came down her cheeks and fell on the menu. She wasn't hungry anymore she was to depress to eat now for she didn't know what Lucas would say to her.

"I didn't mean to scare you..I..just needed some company," Lucas told Sophia, gently. Way to go, Lucas, you've started by scaring her. Not the best way to begin. "I'm sorry for scaring you," Lucas apologized. "Oh um, I am here, having lunch.." Lucas lied. He wasn't going to tell her he had been here the last few weeks, drinking. "And what are you doing here?" Lucas asked. He assumed that..well, no, he didn't assume anything, he had nothing to think of where she would rather be.

Lucas watched her cry and this made his eyes turn gold with worry and he wanted to cry as well but didn't want her to see him in pain as well. "Oh, no no no, please, Sophia, please, don't cry," Lucas said and got up and quickly grabbed a napkin from another table and sat beside her dabbed her cheeks gently. This reminded him of their first meet, except he got a napkin to wipe away a bit of sauce..now he's wiping away her tears.

He then gave her a long hug whilst dabbing her tears away. She felt cold, but he didn't care, he just wanted to comfort her, after all, he did hurt her. It was his fault. He was to blame. "I know..sorry means nothing to you, but..if you could let me explain.." Lucas whispered. He wasn't going to start explaining unless she wanted an explanation or would think it was just an excuse.

This hurt him so much. His heart pounded fast and quickly, it hurt him. He couldn't believe that he hurt an innocent, beautiful girl like Sophia and just left. He was so stupid to do that, and began to wonder himself why he didn't say good-bye either. Lucas was still hugging her and then released her from his gentle grip so he could see her face. Her red, puffy wet face.

"It's ok really, it's just one minute no one was there and the next thing I look up and there you were."said Sophia softly. "Oh really? that's nice I'm doing the same thing or I was."said Sophia softly still looking at her butterbeer glass. "I also came here to sing, but I'm not really in the mood to sing anymore."said Sophia softly as she took a drink of her butterbeer. Sophia been singing alot lately which was one thing that helped her as well as work and getting involved with her studying. Sophia been nothing but working like crazy around the clock, she swears she works so much that she barely sees her parents nor her sister but she wanted to do it to get her mind off Lucas.

Sophia looked up at him with tears coming down her face. " How can I not Lucas, how do I know you won't leave me again?"Sopia asked him softly. That was on of her worse fears that Lucas would do that again. As he wiped her cheeks it reminded her of the first time they met at the small cafe on the corner. "Or you'll leave me for someone else more prettier and not a cold vampire?"Sophia asked him softly as tears came down her cheeks once more. "You left without saying goodbye, not even a letter or anything was wrote to me I was worried but upset both!"said Sophia softly. "Lucas I love you more then anything, but how do I know you would keep your promises?" Sophia asked him softly.

Sophia shook her head. "Ok... I'll let you explain."said Sophia softly as she looked at him through her puffy golden eyes. Part of Sophia wanted him to explain but one part of her wanted to leave and never see him again. But Sophia decided to listen to her heart and stay for his excuse may be a good reason for why he left her. "Ok... lets hear your reason Lucas."said Sophia softly as she took a drink of her butterbeer as she looked at him with her now calmed chocolate brown eyes. As she sat there looking at him she waited for him to tell her his side of the story as she took another drink of her butterbeer.

"Because, once I tell you this reason, you'll understand that my absences vary and I come and go without a trace," Lucas told Sophia. Lucas then frowned at her. He wanted to prove he really did feel the same way as she did to him. He loved her, and so then wanted to prove it. He felt guilty that she was going to sing but not anymore, probably because of his presence. And that she also was here to have lunch, but not anymore, because of him.

Lucas was suprised to hear that she said that she loved him more than anything. This made his heart pound with joy. He put both his hands on Sophia's cheeks, closed his eyes leant it and his lips touched her lips. They were soft and lucious and Lucas opened and closed his lips a couple of times, almost wanting to go further, but didn't want to push it. He continued to kiss her a couple of more times and then backed away from her face and looked at her. "I would never want to leave you, Sophia Annabelle Granger, you are a beautiful vampire," Lucas told her, hoping it would prove it and make her not think that way again.

He continued to dab her cheeks and around her eyes with the napkin."Remember when I told you that my mum basically had a new man every week?" Lucas asked. "Well, she couldn't pay rent and this man who was a colleague let us stay with him in his caravan except..." Lucas gulped and his eyes turned red with fury and anger. "My mum would still go out to clubs every night and this man would kick me out of the caravan and raped my sister every single night..." Lucas frowned and tears began to come out his eyes as well.

"I tried to convince mum but she didn't believe me," Lucas said, and had sad eyes and looked at Sophia. "Then finally, one night, mum went out and then man kicked me out, except this time, mum forgot something and saw me, and had the keys to enter the caravan and saw my sister, being raped," Lucas choked.

"So, since I graduated, I swore I would go back to muggle world and keep tabs on this man...So I can evidence of him doing this to other girls, but so far, there's been nothing, he's a criminal mastermind..I have this group in muggle world who call me in an emergency when they think they have something and I leave without a trace," Lucas finished explaining, crying softly.

"And I did nothing..I just sat outside, banging the door, trying to get in, but I could see in the windows..the sadness and pain and suffering my sister went through...I felt weak.." Lucas muttered. "Yet, she treats me like I'm a hero...I did nothing...mum didn't believe me and I was only eight.." Lucas cried.

Looked at him with her chocolate brown eyes and nodded ans waited for him to tell her why he left her without saying goodbye. As the waitress came by and asked what she wanted she told her nothing for she was fine. "I know what your thinking it's your fault I'm not eating nor singing, it's not I'm just to upset to sing."said Sophia softly. "You probably want to hear me though I'm willing to bet right?"Sophia asked him softly. "Well... maybe you might hear a sing, but after this story your going to tell."said Sophia softly as her chocolate brown eyes looked at him.

As he put both hands on her cheeks and leaned in and kissed her Sophia enjoyed his soft lips on her cold soft lips. As he pulled away Sophia's eyes opened up and looked him as he said he would never want to leave her for she was a beautiful vampire. "I'm glad you think so Lucas, for I don't want to lose you to anybody."said Sophia softly. Sophia kissed him one more time before she let him tell his story why he was gone for so long without telling her. Sophia wanted to kiss him longer but she wanted to hear this story and maybe just maybe forgive him if it was worth it.

When he asked her if she remebered the story about his mum having a new man every week she nodded. "Yes Lucas love I remember that."said Sophia softly as she remembered how Lucas cried that day and how she held him. As she seen his eyes turn red she put her hand on his and kissed his cheek hoping to calm him down. Listening to her story she felt bad that about being angry at him that he had to go through that. "Oh Lucas I'm so sorry, but you should had wrote me, together we would had fixed this."said Sophia softly as her eyes turned gold.

"Well find this bastard who didi this to you and your sister together love I promise."said Sophia softly as she gave him a light kiss. "You did everything you could love from protecting her from any other type of harm but you couldn't had prevented that you were only eight!"said Sophia softly. "But you kept her healthy and protected her through the years that why she looks up to you."said Sophia softly. "If only there was a way we can show your mum your telling the truth."said Sophia softly. "I think I know a way if we catch the guy."said Sophia smiling. "Ok I'll sing the song I wrote, beside a promise is a promise."said Sophia softly.

As she gotten up she walked towards the stage as the crowd started cheering. "Hey everyone, I'm going to sing this song it's called don't forget I hope ya'll like it."said Sophia softly. As she gotten a little metal like flute out she played it as her band appeared on stage ready to go. As she got her guitar she started playing and singing.

Lucas nodded. "I do want to hear you sing, you're a brilliant singer," Lucas admitted. Nevertheless, Lucas was just glad to hear that it wasn't his fault she wasn't singing nor eating but it still felt like it was. But was then glad to hear she would after he told her his story/explaination.

"I don't want to lose you to anybody either, Sophia." Lucas said, honestly. The kiss Sophia gave him before telling her his story made him more comfortable and less nervous about telling her. He smiled at her, after she kissed him.

She remembered, which made Lucas' story easier to tell than having to re-explain his past. Sophia had seen his eyes turn red, because she put her hand on his and kissed his cheek, perhaps this emotion scared her. Well, this made him a bit less angrier than he was, having Sophia there with him. "Don't be sorry, it's not your fault and yes, I still should've written to you...but, I didn't want to tell you or have you tag along because.. I follow this man in muggle world, and if he saw us, and got suspicious, I didn't want him to find you and put you through suffering, and pain.." Lucas told Sophia.

"I am so glad to hear all of that, love," Lucas smiled, happy to have someone like Sophia by his side. "I really am," Lucas meant it.

Lucas applauded before and after the song. She was such a beautiful singer and really grabbed the audience's attention. She was great. Lucas cheered and clapped and waited for her to come back to the booth. "You were fantastic," Lucas smiled and got up and gave her a hug and quick kiss on the cheek. He then sat back down in the booth, along with Sophia by his side.

"The truth is, I haven't seen my mother since that night she dragged my sister and I from that man's caravan and begged her parents to let us stay in this magical world...and her parents let us stay with them, until now, as we speak and I haven't seen or heard of my mother since," Lucas explained with a sigh.

Sophia looked at him and nodded. "I understand love, and I'm glad you didn't but I hate seeing you in pain."said Sophia softly. "It hurts me to see you like this, I wish there was something I can do."said Sophia softly as she rested her head on his shoulder. "But like I said before if you find the guy I think I know a way to prove to your mom that your not lying."said Sophia softly. "But we have to find him first."said Sophia softly sighing. "I love you Lucas Montez and I always will."said Sophia softly as she looked up at him with her pink eyes.

As she went up to sing ang came back she smiled when he said she was fantastic. "Aw.. thankyou love."said Sophia softly. Resting her head back on his shoulder she listened to his story and looked at him with her now gold eyes. "Aw.. Lucas love I'm sorry, do you miss her?"Sophia asked him softly wondering if he did or not. "So you been searching for this man for how long, since you were eight?"Sophia asked him softly wondering if she wasright. If he had he been searching for awhile but she wondered where the man would run off to where Lucas couldn't find him.
