Durmstrang was full of boys, Veronika had noticed that a long time ago, when she had first came at the castle. But her class seemed to be nearly completely filled with males. It probably had something to do with the culture, in rural Finland, girls weren't expected to work, not all of them at least. They were expected to be good housewives, so they were kept at home. Nika wasn't much different, it wasn't like she had gone to Durmstrang to get a good education, she had went there to make friends and impress her parents. That was about it. After all, how would Durmstrang help her be a singer anyways? Now don't get her wrong, Veronika liked boys a lot, and was experienced in dating, but it was just hard to keep one of them as friends only. It always ended up becoming something else, and then their relationship just became awkward. Another problem she had was that she was very selective about her friends, they had to be rich and decent, not those middle-class druggies and jockies.
Veronika left the castle on time, wearing the school uniform as the headmaster had requested, as well as a lot of perfume. It would be a loooong trip. Two days to get to this Hogwarts place, and then a whole nine months there. Nika had been there before, England, and had been a little appalled by the cultural differences. It would be hard to adjust and get along with the people there. As for the Triwizard, she would like to win it, mainly because of the winnings and the fame, but wasn't that why everyone was entering? She didn't give a damn about winning the tournament for Durmstrang, it was for herself. But if she didn't get in, it would be a disapointment, but she would still have some fun there, seeing new sights, meeting new people - that kind of stuff appealed to her, at least a little bit. Nothing really ever made her enthusiastic, and neither did this. Perhaps she would be more happy if they were going on a fancy first class plane or something and not the massive ship which was currently anchored at the coast, right infront of her. It looked massive, but it also looked dirty, though she sincerely hoped it wasn't, she couldn't stand not being clean. It was one of her long time quirks, constant handwashing, showers, and using sanitizers. She was just a total clean-freak.
As she boarded the ship, Nika was a little impressed by it. It was cleaner than she expected, with nice little chairs all around the top of the ship. She noticed the headmaster and politely bowed and said "Good Afternoon" to him, before walking around the ship to complete her inspection. She quickly noticed that her assumption was correct - the ship was all full of boys and she was the only girl onboard so far.
