Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by James William Wilson Thu Sep 09, 2010 1:23 pm

These beginnings, these formal doings that needed to be done, the introductions, the new ones... all of those formalities were something that bothered him and that, somehow, managed to defuse his will for teaching. But still, he was looking forward to teaching his favorite class this term and that is what he had prepared for during the past few weeks. He entered the classroom, hoping that one of Archer's monkeys wouldn't be inside, went to his desk and took a seat, waiting for the pupils to come.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by Luna-Lorrie Hastenfield Thu Sep 09, 2010 7:20 pm

Luna saw that she was the first student in Basic Level DADA to attend this particular class. She was eager to learn whatever it was that was planned today. She was gonna be just like Silas and Daniel once she was done school. At least, that's what she wanted. On her DADA textbook, she taped a picture of her father and Daniel on the front as motivation to do well. It was just like what Brienne had done, except she had an extra picture, one of Stanley. A tear slipped from her eyes as she glanced at the picture of Silas.

"I'm doing this for you" she said without realizing it.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by Aurora Nye Thu Sep 09, 2010 9:11 pm

Aurora slowly walked into the classroom and noticed that she was the second child there. She silently gave her teacher a note that was similar to all the notes she was to give to the other teachers. The note read,

Dear Mr. Wilson,
We would like to ask you to keep it
slow for Aurora and be slightly
patient with her. She can explain
why if needed.

Thanks,
Mr and Mrs Rolanders

Her god parents were concerning her alot. Aurora slowly walked to the back of the row. Her eyes showed depression and sadness. She looked as thought she hadnt slept in weeks even though she had.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by Lucy Weasley Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:30 pm

This was the subject that Lucy's parents approved of. In fact, she wasn't allowed to take Dark Arts if she didn't take this one as well. Not that she would've wanted to. In order to have a functioning knowledge of how offensive and defensive spells worked, Lucy thought it was only logical to take both branches of the subject.

Lots of people disagreed. They thought the dark arts were somehow incurably corrupted, though how knowledge by itself could be corrupt was beyond Lucy. She merely sought the knowledge so she could improve herself. Though it was a shame muggle studies had been cancelled. It had always been one of her favourite classes.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Andrew enjoyed this class. He, strangely enough, looked forward to school. He had noticed some of the long faces in the Great Hall at breakfast today, and, he had to admit, he did not share their feelings.

He was glad to be back at Hogwarts. He felt like he belonged here. He didn't belong so many other places. THey made him feel diferent, but here, he felt like this was where he should have always been.

"Good morning, Professor," Andrew said, doublechecking to be sure he had Frog still in his pocket. He selected a seat that was a row or two closer than the very back row that he had always chosen last year. He was feeling a bit less timid now, and didn't feel quite like the smallest child in the school this year. That had helped a great deal.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by Ethel Prerana Atkinson Fri Sep 10, 2010 1:50 am

After being sorted into the repugnant house of Gryffindor, Ethel knew Defense Against the Dark Arts was going to be an essential part of her education. What had possessed the Sorting Hat to put her in the red house, she didn't know, but she did know she was now doomed to run headlong into danger at every opportunity.

It was a regrettable circumstance, but one that couldn't be avoided. However, if her fellow housemates were anything to judge by, there were some Gryffindors who lived long enough to procreate. If Ethel studied hard enough, and applied herself to this course, she might just become one of them.

Lesson 1 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 1 - Basic Level

Post by Samuel Grigori Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:40 pm

Walking into the class he knew he almost "had" to like, Sam instantly felt the vibes of negative energy rolling off the class from within. He'd heard of this professor, and he could see the descriptions fit quite well.

"Good morning Sir," he said with smile at the man's direction, before taking a seat around the middle of the class, he did care for this subject, quite a lot, just not the teacher, if the stories were true. Clearly the middle was a good, well place poisition to be sitting for such a predicament. Too far forward and the teacher may expect too much from you, as may the class, too far back and the teacher knows you're a lost cause, often giving up, as he'd experienced before.

Pulling his books out he scowled a little, wishing there was a familiar... or even friendly looking face in the class.

Leanne walked into the classroom looking around for someone familiar. Once she didn;t spot anyone she turned back to the Professor after realizing she didn't greet him. "Morning Professor Wilson.." she said taking a seat in the 2nd desk in the middle, taking her time to unpack her books, ink, quil and her wand from her pocket. She wondered what are they going to do today.

Aurora looked around at all of the people. There were more now that there usually were. She didnt care though. that meant that there would be more people who would turn against her and she really wasnt up for it. Why was she always the one with problems that were hard to solve. She wished for once that someone besides her had a problem that was really hard to solve.
