Spending time with the Family

THAT AFTERNOON:

Mariana woke up around 13 PM almost sharp yawning after she realized she spent good few hours on the couch where she fell right after entering Jess's house. Only difference was is that she was covered with a blanket though she didn't remember that part. She grabbed her overstuffed suitcase and took out a pair of white slippers. "Good morning to myself. Lunch time.." she muttered under her breath as she stood up still sleepy, but not willing to sleep.

She made her way towards the kitchen taking her wand out and started slicing potatoes with flying knives. Salad also started slicing itself while parts flew to the soup or to the salad bowl. In time of 5 minutes she managed to make kitchen covered in smog that was coming from everything that was cooking including some fresh barbeque that just flew out of her purse to be fried in a pan.

Khaat and Brian had gone for a run and had found that they liked the place. The weather was beautiful. They didn't mind that it was cold. It made it easier to run when the weather wasn't hhot and sticky and humid. They'd run about 2 miles. A mile out and a mile back. They were used to running longer distances, but, well, it had been a long muggle flight without sleep. Not the best time for marathon running.

One thing about it, with Brian back in her life, she kept in good physical shape. Brian was driven to be in peak physical condition and he made sure that she did too. he insisted that she exercise daily, no longer how long she worked or how tired she was. he insisted she swim--long distance lap swimming 3 days a week, running 4 days a week, and general working out every single day. As long as the weather was good, he kept her out in the sun a bit, and it gave her a healthy glow to her figure that was becoming very well shaped and toned, thanks to Brian's coaching.

After the run, they had returned to the house, gotten a couple of bottles of cold water and had done some stretching outside and cooled down. Khaat and Brian knew that the best way to get through jet lag was to stay up until bedtime whereever it was they had flown to, and then go to bed. So they had time to spend yet.

They had decided to keep busy. Brian had apprated into town, into an alley beside a car rental place and had rented a shiny little red sports car. It had been a trifle expensive, but, oh well. He brought it back, and while he was gone, Khaat had showered and changed. She was now dressed in jeans and a long sleeved navy blue v necked sweater. She picked up a her old tan suede jacket and put on her suede boots. She tucked Remus's wand in her left boot and her own in her right. She grabbed her purse and found Brian waiting with keys in his hand. She also noticed that he was wearing fresh clothes too--jeans, a denim shirt, and a tan leather jacket, along with sneakers. "When did you change?" she asked.

"It doesn't take me as long as it takes you to shower," he laughed. And, yes, I have the car. You want to go out while they sleep?"

"Sure." They left the house to go scout out the area and go shopping.

Belle had woken up and climbed out of Andrian's protective grip and dressed for the day. She then headed out of the room making sure to close the door quietly behind her so as not to wake her husband before heading back towards the kitchen.

She walked and saw Mari at work and smiled as she went and got a glass of water. "Morning, or whatever the case may be sis." Belle said before going and sitting at the kitchen table.

Mariana looked still a bit sleepy at Belle's apperance. "Actually it's afternoon sis.." she smiled as she made a carrot slice itself into the chicken soup that was cooking on the oven. "So how was your sleep? I don't remember any further then falling on Jess's couch.." she asked chopping onion into the salad that stood in a giant bowl in front of Belle. "Coffee?" she asked as she took a sip of her own coffee after making the salad mix itself.

"I slept well thank you." Belle answered with a smile, "I would love one but I was told no coffee for the little one. But do we happen to have any orange juice?" Belle asked as she watched the food chop and mix itself before her. It all smelled wonderful to her.

"It looks as if you have everything under control, but is there anything I can help you with Mari? I hate just sitting around if I can be of service."

Vegetables were flying all over the kitchen, the air was filled with cooking smog while Mari was talking to Belle that was sitting at the table next to her. "Orange juice? I think i saw it somewhere..." she said thinking on loud as she opened the fridge and looked around. There it was laying on the top shelf. "There you go sis.." she said as she made the drink slip into the glass in front of Belle. "Well now that you mention it we still need desert. I;m not quite sure yet what to they eat for desert in Australia." she replied as she looked at the soup that was now becoming to look more like a soup. It still needed a few more minutes.

Belle took a drink of her juice before smiling. "Thanks Mari, and I am not sure but most people love brownies, why don't we make some double thick fudge brownies and a fruit salad incase no one wants the brownies?" She asked.

Mariana turned off the soup to cool down now that was finished. She grabbed a pair of cooking gloves and took the chicken out to cool down aswell now that it was rather hot. "You're welcome sis. Ummm well i never made brownies in my life. Do you have a recipe or something?" she asked trying to remember. Maybe she did make it for Jess a couple of years ago once, but she didn't remember.

Belle smiled at her, "Actually I do. My Gram used to make them when I was a kid and I have made them once or twice as a treat for my brother." She rose then from the chair and began searching Jess's kitchen for the things she would need.

"Would you help me Mari? I am afraid I am not that good on my feet for very long."

Mariana made the soup levitate onto the table to cool down for now since it was rather hot for eating freshly finished on the oven. "I've never been too good with deserts. Maybe a couple of cakes. I learnt to make cookies too when..." she replied not really wishing to finish the sentence. "Nevermind." she murmered for herself before she decided to change the topic. "Sure sis just tell me what i need to do. We wouldn't want my new nephew or neice to get sick.." Mari said smiling as she checked the chicken.
