Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Hey students,
here're some of the base rules for classes at PA.
  1. The 75 word limit still remains, any less and your teacher will report you

  2. Make sure you do what your teacher says, treat them as though they're actually your teacher, not as though they're someone playing a teacher

  3. The whole point of classes is for you to learn something. If you walk into a class knowing everything the teacher teaches, it ruins the point of going, so take a few tries to succeed, make mistakes, act like an actual student, no one, not even Hermione, was perfect.

  4. Try to attend every class, if you miss one or two that's fine, but if you miss too many we may have to discuss whether you remain a student or not.

  5. Do the homework your teachers set you on time, your teacher will be the one to decide on your punishment if you don't

  6. As with every year the House cup competition has started again, so do your best in every class, and you may receive points, further progressing your house to glory. Fail to meet the requirements, and points may be deducted.

  7. Finally, have fun!

Announcement

All classes are now keeping track of attendance. If you are unable to attend a class or miss a class, please PM the professor with an explanation as to why (ie, too busy in RL, computer broke down, etc). If you don't attend and we don't receive a PM, your character will fail the class and may be held back!

SPECIAL OFFER FOR CHARMS STUDENTS ONLY

I will be posting a late attendance thread in the Charms Classroom. If you want to make up a charms class (or classes) that you missed in character, you may post your work there and lose only one mark from your character's grade instead of being counted as non-attending.

New Professor

Just thought I'd make a short introduction, as I am the new professor of the class. This is Mathias Korpela, and you can find his bio in the link below (underneath the siggy). He is quite unusual, which I thought was perfect for charms.

I must confess that I will not likely be keeping a strict watch on attendance. I understand that many are here for experiences other than classes, though it would be nice for those who are signed up for the class to attend.

I do, however, have some rules of my own.

1) A new class will be posted every month on the 1st, and will close on the last day of the month.

2) After the class is initially posted, students will have a week to respond before being counted as tardy. So, if you post after one week has gone by you could be punished with House points being taken...or forced to undergo a Tarot reading in front of the whole class. Twisted Evil

3) You will be partnered up for most classes. I'll probably usually let people partner up by themselves, but it's possible I'll do it for you. If your partner never shows, or goes inactive, you are more than welcome to find yourself another partner. You can also pm me, and Mathias will re-assign partners in character.

4) I may or may not assign homework. I haven't decided yet.

5) I'll add to this as I think of things.
