Mathias was humming to himself as he began to prepare for his first class as an actual professor! He had been delighted to receive the assignment as Charms instructor because charms were his favorite sort of wand work. There was a much bigger area available for individual preference in charms, it being so much less scientific than transfiguration. Wand movements need not to be exact to get the desired result.
It had been difficult coming up with a lesson for students whose years ranged from first year to their graduation year, so Mathias had set up a few different assignments which would be based on who showed up for class. He hoped they were fun and that the students would enjoy them. He had been up all night working on a fantastic first day.
At the moment, Mathias was at work with one of his least favorite subjects, Transfiguration, in order to suit the classroom more to his style. Any surface with sharp angles or straight ledges were being transformed into curves. The straight rows of benches that had been on the one side of the classroom were now circling the class like an arena. Mathias detested geometrical conformity.
On the blackboard, now circular in shape, rather than square; he had written:
Welcome to Charms! I am your new professor, Mathias Korpela. We are redecorating the room today before we start our lessons. Pick a place to sit and transform it to suit your preferences. A comfortable class is a happy class!
Mathias' own desk had been transformed in such a way. The desk was curved into what resembled a crescent moon. A purple tablecloth was spread across it, adorned with a large ornamental sun. A mobile of realistic-looking planets was rotating around the sun in the air above his desk.
((Got a week to post your entrances into the classroom. Feel free to chat among one another until class starts. Class starts on the 8th of December, so if your first post occurs after that date, then you are tardy. Class will end on the 31st of December.))
