What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. A Trip to France Empty A Trip to France

Post by Abbey Dawn Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:12 am

Abbey stood underneath the Eiffel Tower. She was breathless from it's captivating beauty. If only her family was here to see this. Unfortunatly, with her parents being dead, they couldn't see it of course. And Allie was back in London. She had screamed at Abbey for not taking her to Paris with her, but with all that was going on right now, Abbey had felt it was safer for her back home.

She picked up a tiny brochure that was laying on the ground and started reading all about the Tower to kill time. Abbey tightened the purple buree that was sitting atop her flaming red hair so it wouldn't be pulled off by the wind, and sat down on a bench, her feet aching from the sight-seeing she'd done today.

A Trip to France Empty Re: A Trip to France

Andrew glanced around the area which he was in. It was his first time being in France and had no clue where he was, or even what time it was. He began to walk on the sidewalk, hearing only the French language and barely any English or any other languages. He sighed because he knew he had to be here for a wizard medical session thing, that he had to attend since he was an intern for Mungos. He decided however, to take the scenic route and visit the Eiffel tower, which he had always wanted to see. As he continued by it, he accidently bumped into a girl, as he was looking up at the towers structure. "Sorry," he said to the girl which seemed different than the other French people here.

Abbey looked up in surprise from her brochured. A guy stood in front of her, apoligizing for bumping into her. She tugged on her buree again and smiled. He looked slightly familar...Abbey briefly wondered if maybe he attended Hogwarts. But that couldn't be possible; they were in France for crying out loud! But then again, she went to Hogwarts and she was in France.

Just to be sure, Abbey struggled to find the French word for 'sorry'. "Ummm..." Abbey mumbled, biting her lower lip. She unfortunately couldn't remember one of the easiet words to say in French. "I'm sorry, I'm just a tourist, I don't speak much French!" she cried.

"It's alright," he said, surprized that she hadn't been a French girl "I don't know any sort of French, except Bonjour or something." He wondered if she had been a Muggle, yet it would've been odd if she had been one without learning at least a little French. "Anyway, I'm sorry. My name is Andrew. And you are?" He would try to keep the wizard talk to a mininum of zero, until he found out if she was Muggle or not.

Abbey breathed a sigh of relief when she found out that the guy wasn't French. "Thank God you're not French!" she said, laughing. "And my name's Abbey Dawn. Third year, Huffle..." Abbey's hand flew to cover her mouth. How could she be so stupid!? She didn't even know if Andrew was a wizard or not, and she had just gone and almost said she was a Hufflepuff at Hogwarts!

"Uhh..." Abbey looked around and tried to distract him from what she had said. "Yes, well, uh, don't you just love the beauty of the Eiffel Tower?" she asked, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.

"Hufflepuff?" he asked with a slight smirk. "Andrew Thompson. Gryffindor, 6th year." He chuckled as they had both just revealed their statues of being a student at Hogwarts in public, yet no one had noticed. Ignorance is bliss, he presumed. "Yeah it is a marvelous work of art, if I do say so myself. It really describes a lot. "Although if the French were too make another one of these for America, they would be known for a lot more."

Abbey breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you go to Hogwarts." she said, grinning. "And I guess technically I'm not a third year anymore, I'm more like a third year soon to be fourth year." Abbey turned back to the Eiffel Tower that was standing before them.

"Yeah, I definitely think if they built one for America that would be really cool." Abbey said. "But didn't they give America the Statue of Liberty?" she wondered. Abbey then realized how boring she probably sounded right now, talking about artifacts that were hundreds of years old. "Sorry if I'm boring you." she said, an apolegetic grin plastered across her face.

"Yeah I usually just hear French people all the time here so I figure everyone here would at least go to that all girls wizard school." he said noticing a couple of them having no secrecy with magic. He chuckled at Abbeys entensive knowledge and was rather impressed, since everyone at Hogwarts just lived in England "Yeah they did, so I guess we really can't ask for more. And not at all, I'm from America myself, if you haven't noticed my accent at all."

Abbey blushed. "Not really, sorry! You would've have thought I would since I spend all my time around English people and I'm one myself." she said jokingly, laughing slightly at her brain-missing moment. "I can't believe I even remembered that small fact." It was wierd Abbey knew so much about other countries besides the one she lived in. Maybe that's why she was so good at muggle studies, but she highly doubted it. She just loved to read.

"Don't you think it would be cool if France built every country, like America and England, their own Eiffel Tower, so then if something happens to one of them, there would at least be one left?" Abbey asked. She highly doubted that anything other than age could ruin something like the Eiffel Tower, considering it was probably made out of like titanium steel. But still, it would be wonderful for England to have one, even if they already had things like the Big Ben.

Andrew laughed not at Abbey, but with her as she began to talk. He was rather intrigued by her idea, but had his own theory. "Well if all the countries had something like this," he said gesturing to the Eifell Tower "then it wouldn't be as great and historic as it has been for the past 137 years." He was rather impressed by his own knowledge, and felt rather proud. He hadn't really cared much about the Muggles since he had learned about magic. It was rahter sad really, since he had a lot of muggle descriptions about him.
