Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A Trip to France - Page 4 Empty Re: A Trip to France

Abbey laughed at Andrew's confused expression. She glanced down at the unidentifiable food and prodded it with her own fork. "Wow..." she whispered. "I have never seen something like that." Abbey pressed her hand to her mouth, trying to cover up her giggles. She didn't want to laugh if this food was supposed to be some sort of French delicacy.

When she heard Andrew's offer, she was hesitant. Abbey wasn't one to usually pass up a good dare, but that food...it looked like it belonged in a garbage can. But ten dollars would come in handy, seeing as she only had wizard money left; even if they weren't euros, she could change them at an ATM.

Abbey bit her lip and stared at the mystery food. "Okay," she said, "I'll do it." She grabbed the plate and placed it on her own almost empty one. Abbey picked up her fork and took a bite of the food...she coughed and gasped before gulping down a mouthful of water, splattering her shirt with it. Abbey could almost feel the burning glares of the French people around her as she tried to get the awful taste out of her mouth. "That is the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted!" she gasped.

Andrew watched in anticipation as Abbey began to try the mysterious food. Sure he felt kind of wrong for asking her to do such a thing, but he at least wanted to know what it tasted like. When she spat out the food, he flinched backwards, hoping none of the food particles had managed to touch him or anything. He kept his eyes on Abbey though and asked "Are you okay?". When she said the food was bad, he chuckled lightly, knowing now that he wasn't going to eat it.

"Here's your 10 dollars," he said handing her 10 1 dollar bills. He smiled a bit then asked her in a questioningly tone "what did it taste like?" He figured it would probably taste like fish or something, as the colors of the food reminded him strangely of it. If it was fish, he wouldn't even want to look at it. That was probably his most hated food, and had bad experiences fishing once.

Abbey smiled weakly and took the bills from Andrew's outstretched hand. "I guess that was an easy ten bucks." she said as she shoved the money into her jean pocket. Abbey drank some more water before placing the plate full of mysterious food on the edge of the table where it hopefully wouldn't fall off. Their waiter came by again and seemed to ask in his French accent if they would like anything else. "More water please." Abbey croaked out.

When the waiter had gone, Abbey contemplated Andrew's question. "Well...I'm not really quite sure what it tasted like." she said, shrugging. "Gross, fould, disgusting, would be a few good words. Almost like curdled milk." At the thought of that Abbey shivered and was glad that the waiter had returned with more water. She took another sip of at thankfully and handed him her plates. "We won't be eating anymore of this one." she said as she handed him the plate of the unidentifiable object. He raised his eyebrows then shrugged and left with the contents of their dinner.
