What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Warning: don’t anger the innocent Empty Warning: don’t anger the innocent

There was too much fear and anger within the walls of Hogwarts. Nerissa need out. She needed out so badly that she was willing to do just about anything to get out. Luckily, however, she didn’t have to do anything but push the door open and step outside- but if there had been any obsticles in her way, Nerissa would have done anything. Promise.

“Breath IN, breath OUT, breath IN, breath OUT...” Nerissa told herself quietly, trying to calm her tangled nerves as they squirmed about. She walked down the hill, sliding a bit from the rain that had soaked the grass that morning, only catching herself a few moments before falling over. She continued to coach herself, “IN and OUT…” she had never felt so frazzled before in her life.

Nerissa slowed down when she reached the greenhouse- her home, in other words- and smiled nervously; something didn’t feel right as she entered the glass haven, she could feel it in the air, an odd sensation that made Nerissa want to puke, but it wasn’t until she reatched the tables on which all the plants had once sat, healthy and content, did she realize why this was.

She gasped and fell to her knees, her eyes wide in horror; all of the plants… they were destroyed. Someone had smashed all of the good pots, uprooted the beautiful creatures and had just thrown them about! Nerissa brought her hands to her face slowly, covering her face with her palms before drawing in a large breath and screaming into them until her lungs felt as if they would collapse. “No…no no no no no,” she whaled, her eyes welling up with tears. She felt as if someone had killed off all of her loved ones, all of her family and left her there all alone.

“Ohohoho, listen to her scream,” a voice laughed, breathing in more air, having wasted it on cruel laughter. Nerissa jumped to her feet and drew her wand, her sorrow quickly replaced by a rage that she had never felt before- it scared her, becoming angry, it had always scared her, in fact it terrified her, but she could not control it after setting her eyes on so many dead people, just lying there on the ground. Yes, in Nerissa’s eyes, those plants were people, and she couldn’t believe how many of them had been destroyed so quickly since she had last visited them.

Nerissa scanned the area with narrowed eyes, her wand held tightly in her fist, “Who did this!?” she asked, her voice cracking towards the end of the sentence. Her eyes were so tear-filled she could hardly see clearly through them. “Answer me!” she yelled, almost to the point of hysterics, until suddenly she heard footsteps. She watched as two young, cruel looking figures approached, each with a mocking smirk upon their lips, “What is wrong? Did we hurt you? No… So why are you crying?” the male who looked about Nerissa’s age asked, already knowing the answer having caused her suffering in the first place.

“Crucio!” Nerissa sobbed, waving her wand in one swift motion int e direction of the male, who then fell to the ground screaming and kicking around as if he had been set on fire. It wasn’t until Nerissa heard his screams did she realize what she was doing. She began to panic, waving her wand around in an attempt to undo what she had done. “No- stop! That’s enough!” Nerissa shouted at her wand as if it could hear her somehow, as if it had a life of its own.

Her frantic wand-waving did no good, and the boy continued to squirm until he passed out in the rain-covered grass, his limbs spread out like a starfish. The other- the female- had run away as soon as the boy had begun screaming, and so, when Nerissa called for help, all she heard in return was the echo of her own words, “help….help….help…”

The young Ravenclaw dropped on her hands and knees besides the boy, shaking his shoulders, “I take it back!” she sobbed, tears falling off of her long black eyelashes, sliding down her porcelain cheeks. She quickly rested her head on his chest, and much to her relief, she found a pulse.

[K]

Andrew had been walking down the halls wearing his Gryffindor robes. He hated going to classes and learning the same thing everyday. When were they going to fly a Hippogrif or something. Suddenly, he heard a loud scream emitting from his eardrums. He figured it was nothing and continued forward, still concerned and curious. Yet he knew something was wrong after hearing 'help'. He put his books inside his back pack and immediatly ran outside. Great. The rain. He went over to the source and saw Nerissa sitting there crying over a boys body. "Oh my god!" he said and immediatly crouched next to the two. "What just happened?"

He looked at the boy and pulled out his wand. He didn't know what had hurt him, but he wanted to try his best to make sure he was alright. He used Ekipsky and his face looked better, yet he was still uncouncious. He had one last alternative and then chanted the spell Enerverate. The spell was supposed to work on people who had been knocked out by a Stupefy spell, yet wondered if it would work on another condition.

Nerissa didn’t say a word to Andrew, she just continued to stare at the boy on the ground, his screams still ringing in her ears. The Ravenclaw didn’t stand up, instead she scooted towards one of the plants that was lying close to her on the greenhouse floor (yes, this is in the greenhouse, but I forgot about that earlier when I mentioned the grass). She picked it up in her arms and held it close to her, allowing the dirt that was falling off of the dead plant’s wilted petals to soil her clothes and the ends of her hair.

The girl whimpered and looked about her, first at Andrew and the cruel boy, whom she had allowed herself to hurt, and then around the greenhouse at the shattered pots and the plants that were scattered about the place. The wood floors were covered in dirt, Nerissa noticed when she moved her eyes from both sorrowful scenes to stare at the floor.

“Its going to be OK,” Nerissa whispered to the plant, kissing one of its petals gently before crawling further along the greenhouse floors, grabbing one of the pots that had only been shattered around the top frame. She scooped up some of the dirt from the floors, getting splinters in her fingers in the process, and dumped it into the flowerpot, droplets still escaping her puffy eyes, rolling down her face. “There you go, your going to live. Everything will be alright, I’m going to save you,” she whispered, her voice unsteady as she lowered the plant into the pot and adjusted it until it was safely in the dirt, its roots hidden. But its delicate limbs only drooped to the floor.

Nerissa howled, as if in pain, suddenly when she looked at the pitiful thing, realizing there was nothing she could do to save it now.

Andrew was concerned about Nerissa, but knew this boy had been hurt beyond belief. He tried everything. Enerverate apprently didn't work. Whatever happened to him, must've caused some serious damage to his system. He then treated him for CPR. After a minute or so, the boy finally awoke, his face sheet white. He looked up at the man who had saved him, and the girl sitting there. He immediatly got up and ran away screaming. Andrew was confused. What the hell just happened? He got up and then looked around. Oh. All the plants had been destroyed. He now realized what happened. He walked over to Nerissa and knelt next to her. "I'm sorry," he said softly

“They are all gone…” she whispered, looking in Andrew’s direction with watery eyes. She couldn't help them, she couldn’t stop thinking about the unforgivable curse she had cast on that boy, and she definitely couldn’t stop the salty tears that fell from her eyes, and so, Nerissa leaned her head against Andrew’s shoulder, still holding her flowerpot to her chest, because she couldn’t do anything else.

A cold wind blew about outside, which then entered the greenhouse through the open door like a ghost, so much for calming down. Nerissa no longer wished to escape the castle walls more than anything, instead, she wanted for the castle and all of its magic to just… leave her be for that moment; to let her grieve over her loss without pixie dust being sprinkled on top of everything.

Andrew put his arms around Nerissa and finally thought he could put together what happened. He didn't want to run it in his head however though. He just sat there with Nerissa and looked at the dead plants. He didn't know how much she loved them, but he could tell it was a really strong connection. "It's alright," he said calmly trying to calm her down

“I didn’t mean to, you know…” Nerissa said after a moment of complete silence, a silence which she had appreciated immensely. She was speaking of how she had lost her temper, trying to think of a way to arrange her words so that she didn’t sound so guilty. It almost made her as sick to the stomach as she had been when she had first entered the greenhouse only to see it in complete disarray.

She inhaled slowly, “Two students did this because they were bored,” Nerissa said, her hatred towards the pair clear as she spoke, “They shouldn’t have done it, and I wouldn’t have gotten mad,” the girl finished, pressing the back of her sweatshirt sleeve to her eyes, drying the crusting tears from the corners of her eyes before they stuck there.

Nerissa had never been such a mess; her emotions were shaken up, mixed together, and like dangerous chemicals, they shouldn’t have been. Her anger was burning like a candle beneath her ribcage, she could feel the flame licking the white bones there, toying with her slow beating heart, which felt as if it had been punctured.
