Escape to Brian Quinn's

"I'm sure Brian would appreciate that," Robert said. "He doesn't like poachers on his land. I'm guessing he'd do worse to them than you probably would." He yawned. "I guess all my lack of sleep is catching up with me. I hate to cut this short, but its been several nights since I've slept. I think since Khaat and Abbey are in safe hands, I'm going to head home for the night. I think the world could get along without me for a few hours." He smiled.

Steven smied " yeap I think it will still be here tomorrow" he said smiling to him "you need sleep , she and abby have good freinds to look after her for one night, Should anything happen we'll contact you right away" he said standing to take his now wmpty tea cup inside "besides i hink Kate woil be happy to see you home and sleeping, she was worried earlyer that you were running your self think" he chuckled at his next words " If i remember she said that if you didn't come home she was going to drag you home "

"Hm," he said with a slight smile, "Sounds like her. She might try it, too. Alright. She's all yours. You and Brian take good care of her. I'll check in sometime tomorrow. Tell Brian she has to eat a little better. Hopefully he knows that pushing her isn't going to get it. Hopefully you both can find better ways than that because pushing never works. Didn't work when she was Abbey's age, and it won't work now. " He yawned again, "Oh, excuse me. Ok. That's my cue. I'm leaving. Goodnight." He apparated out.

Steven smiled "yes captain" he said with a knowing grin " don't worry she seems to do as Brain asks of her more than me so I 'll pass it on " he said watching as he yawned again and excused himself then aperated away.

Moving back into the house he found brain and watched for a moment "Roberts gone home , he was vertually flling asleep on his feet and our pochers are at it again , this time a bat " he said showing him the string he held , more like a fishing wire it was so thin but strong.

"He hasn't slept since before Khaat delivered Abbey," Brian said. "He's exhausted. He's lucky he isn't sick from it. And besides that, he's been giving her his own strength just to keep her alive and then to help restore her. I didn't think he'd sleep until she was out of there and safe. It just took longer than I thought. Hopefully he'll sleep in tomorrow a bit. I doubt it though.

"And as for those poachers, I've run into them before. It's about time I turn them from the hunters into the hunted," he said. He had had enough of this. This time, he was all for changing them into the creatures they hunted instead of just running them off.

Steven looked at Brian " let me do it , you stay with Khaat , here is where your needed with Khaat and abby" he said throwing the thin wire in the bin where it could do no more harm. "I'll get to it about midnight ,thats when they check their traps" he said moving back to the porch and his watch again. he could now sense trouble was on its way but where and who from he didn't know he kept the feelings down for Khaats sake he didn't want ehr worrying over it like he knew she would , but he also knew Brian would pick up on it.

"Alright," Brian agreed. "That's probably a good idea because Khaat sometimes breaks through Robert's potions or spells, depending on how angry she is. Use your mediallion if you need help. I think I could come for that long. And I don't know if Emmy knows how to undo the sort of accidental magic that an angry adult witch or wizard can do. I'm presuming she can, but I don't know. So, yes. That sounds fine to me. "

Steven nodded "sure thing COB" he said as he turned back to the porch to resume his watch.

Soon midnaigh came and he moved from teh porch down to the grounds , as he walked he kept an eye open for pochers, he saw none . Moving into the woods he could hear ahead of him people talking each laughing as they spoke of someone having ago at them , he assumbed it was Brain they were talking about as they threw a fox cub into a small cage. He could feel his anger riseing at such a treatment of the cub. As he stepped forward his foot conected with somthing and a snap and pain followed , he had walked into a trap, he should have been more alert he guessed he was more out of practice than he had anticipated. Pain shot up his leg making him bit his lip to stop himself shouting out, with a wave of his wand he made teh trap disapear and he lent aganst a tree . With a finite he made the gash in his ankle heal partway but he knew he'd have to get to a proper healer to heal it completly , his boots and trousers were torn but again he fixed those and moved off towards the pochers now slightly limping.

As he watched again they caught a second male wolf he could tell it was darted asleep as he saw the wolfs tummy rise and fall "ok enouph it enouph" he said softly and stood up moving forward "hey guys what you up too" he asked casualy walking over to the male wolf "nice wolf, shame your just going to have to let it go" he said , but saw the smirkes on there faces "who said " said one large mand "steven waker texas ranger " he said standing up not knowing if the were magiacal or not " Never herd of them, maybe hes a new fangled Aurors "said another and he knew they were magical " well ether way you are on privet property and there for not aloud to do this" he said sliding out his wand. As one bounded towards him he flicked it changing him into a fox at witch he campered off his tail between his legs the smaller man he changed into a wheasel and the bigger he thought a snake would do.

Moving back to the male wolf he undid the sleeping spell and teh wolf woke "I am not going to hurt you , please you can leave those humans are not those who live here this is a safe place for you and your kind" he said sitting cross legged infront of him. The male looked at him and sniffed "you smell of my mate where is she?" he asked still groggy "shes at my home , that way, shes safe and fine, if you want to stay with her your welcome to" the wolf moved off in the direction he had pointed "maybe human, when she is with cub" he said and run away. steve stood up wincing slightly as he then headed back to the house to find brian.

Brian was in a light sleep. His own exhaustion was getting to him. He had not had a full nights sleep in longer than he could remember now. He had slept a few moments at a time, but only lightlyl, and only here and there. He knew this could not go on forever either. He was hoping that with more help, he could take enough time to get at least one night's rest before he started staying up again. But for the Lupins, Brian would do anything. Whatever the job demanded.

He heard Steven come back in and saw him limping. "What'd you do? Walk into a trap in the dark?" he asked.

Steven looked at him and chuckled "yeap, dam thing was covered" he said sitting down to show him teh partly healed gash "I got the upper hand though ,there were three of them, ones a snake ones a fox and ones a wheasle " he said taking a damp cloth and placing it on his ankle with a wince "I know feild repairs but not full mends" he said sighing as the pain subsided "I am so out of practice , I should have seen it there"
