Kylie sat curled on a couch, slouched over a book. It wasn't anything she was particularly interested in, her first year Potions book, but she hadn't met many people yet and in her free time had blazed through all of the books she had brought with her. She felt awkward sitting alone without one, so she had picked this up, rationalizing that she'd get started on her reading. Mostly, she ended up glancing randomly about the page and turning it occasionally, while her mind wandered.
Suddenly a girl walked in and practically fell onto a couch, dropping her things onto the floor on the way, and drawing Kylie's attention. Glancing around for the first time in awhile, she noted that other students had filtered in, but appeared much more engrossed in their studies than she was.
Deciding to go take a walk outside and get some well needed sunshine, she got up and began walking. Her eyes flitted back to the girl, noticing a broom among her dropped items. Hm, she must play Quidditch Kylie thought to herself. The mere thought of the game made her cringe; she could barely keep from falling and being clumsy on the ground; flying around unsteadily on a very frail piece of (albeit magic) wood was not her cup of tea. If she ever played, she would probably...
Right about that moment, Kylie's foot strayed too close to the broom and she tripped, falling to her knees. Feeling a blush creeping up her neck, she dared a glance at the girl, smiling embarrassedly. “And that is why I would never survive for a minute playing Quidditch.”
