spotty frogs

Steven sat at the ice cream parlor a sall green spotty fron in a case infont of him as he ate a bowl of rocky road ice cream " well do ya think he'll turn up?" he lent forweard to ask the frog who just ribbitted and hoped into a small pond in the case. Steven sat back up chuckling as he waited for andrew to colect his frog that he'd asked him to find , that had been the easy part the hard part was getting it into its new home it had hoped all over the place till he with Johns help had finaly caught it.

Andrew was clever. He had had no trouble slipping out of Hogwarts. His older friends had showed him the way to Hogsmeade through the tunnel and then they had apparated him to Diagon Alley, while they went to Weasley's joke shop to buy some Zonkos.

Andrew dashed off to the ice cream shop to find Steven. He found him easily and was delighted to see his frog waiting for him. He looked in the plastic case. "That's him!" he was excited. It was, for him, like being reunited with the only family who had given a rats' arse. "Thanks! How'd you find him?"

steven smiled as he saw Andrew dashing towards them "hey how ya doin?" he asked "any worries at school?" he could not help but chuckle at his face litghing up as it did when he saw the frog "didn't do anything he just hopped right on in my hand when i said i was gonna take him to you" he said grinning "thats one mighty fine frog" he said moving the box forward to him "hope ya don't mind i got him a nice froggy home" he said turning it so he could see the rest of the frog enclosure.

"Wow! That is so cool! Thanks! Another boy in my dorm has a frog in a shoe box. But that's no place for a frog, not for a long time. He wouldn't be happy in a shoebox. And I met a professor who gave me a brand new wand. Look" He drew the wand from his pocket and showed it to Steven. And he says I"m not a squb. Found out I can do some magic after all. And he's not telling the headmaster about my frog or about the fact that there's nobody related to me anymore. So far, he treats me pretty good. And I've got a couple of big kids who say they aren't going to let the bigger ones beat me up. Say they're going to look out for me. And, so far, the food is pretty good. Better than what my dad used to get us."

steven nodded as he sayd a shoe box was not the palce for a frog "no its not" he breathed a sigh of relif when he said a professor knew he was alone but would not say anything then took out his new wand "thats a good wand there andrew" he said looking at it listening as he speak of how he had freinds all ready" i said ya'd be ok" he placed his hand on the young boys shoulder "do ya want some ice cream be for ya head back?" he asked "by the way thay offer of some where ta stay is still open, I got a ranch here now and theres a spare room just waitin for ya" he said hoping he would still take up his offer, he hated to se any one out in the summer when he had a spare room. "Got a lake for fishin, horses, was thinkin of getting a hyppogriff or two. "

Andrew frowned for a second."Why would you want someone like me at your place? Nobody's ever wanted me before. I mean, it sounds great, you know, but...nobody ever just wanted me before. I'm not special. I'm just--Andrew."

Steven frowned "hey, your special , don't let any one say diferant, your special because your you" he said as he folded his arms across his chest. "its your room if ya want it, coz i'd like ya to , ya can teach john a thing of two about being who he is " he said with a sigh "besides your a good lad who need a brake and i'm offering, no strings attached " he finished looking at him.

"Well, it does sound like a lot of fun. I'd like to climb trees and fish again. Okay. I think a visit sounds like fun. And, yeah, i think i would like some ice cream. but i want to try another flavor. Maybe strawberry. Something i havent' had. Suppose they have that?"

Steven smiled "yeah, they have and mint coco chip too" he waved over the watiress and gave his order "Humm butterscotch for me please " he said and smied to Andrew "strawberry for Andrew" the woman left heading inside leaving them alone again "ya should see the tree we have big enouph for a tree house" he pulled a face as the thought "ya know i never though about putin one up be fore but sounds a good idea"

"A tree house? That sounds like fun. I tried to build one once, but it didn't work out. I couldn't do it by myself. But I can make a great lean to, and a good snow fort. Just not a tree house. I really do have a room at your place? Can I bring my frog?"
