In the five minutes that remained, the scene looked dreadfully similar to the way it had appeared in the first fifteen. The other students who had bothered to show up to class had been more afraid of the tiny creatures than interested in catching them, which had resulted in an overwhelming victory for Belle and Mariana, the latter of which had managed to round up most of the remaining Billywigs. Only four of the blue insects still swarmed about, not having managed to sting anyone because Luke and Elizabeth had been cringing near the fringe of the Forbidden Forest and Belle and Mariana had been altogether successful in their task.
Without blinking an eye, Remy turned from the scene and turned to survey what was left of the tools in her box. Seeing a poor number of choices, she averted her attention to the fringe of the forbidden forest, where a different type of tool caught her eye. A branch on which a spider had spun its glossy web would serve as a perfect round up for the last of the Billywigs, and after removing the branch Remy swept it in the air around the remaining four Billywigs, moving only as much as she had to in order to catch the lot of them and return them to the box with the others.
Her task complete, Remy dusted her hands off on the thighs of her jeans and turned, plastering a smile on her face for the benefit of Bell and Mariana. The girls had, surprisingly, lived up to their famous last names – though Belle wasn’t born into hers and was really only borrowing it from her husband – which meant they had become prime targets for Remy’s attention and for her report to Sandra.
“Well, girls,” Remy said approvingly, “It seems you are the uncontested winners of today’s contest. Congratulations,” she applauded, then directing her attention to the students as a whole as she dismissed them.
“This less is adjourned. I will see you all next week,” Remy said dismissively, adding, “And hopefully some of you will be more willing to participate at that time,” in the direction of the embarrassed looking pair who had only now come out of hiding.
And with that, she began to clean up the tools which had been removed from the box, replacing them from where they had come. By hand, of course.
((Points awarded:
Elizabeth Eplee: You haven’t posted since the beginning of class – and I very much doubt that you are even an active member of this site any longer – but your posts were solid. 10 points to Ravenclaw.
Luke Night: I am not sure it is even worth mentioning that you came to this class. Your posts were brief and not exceedingly well thought out, but they did advance the progress of the class. 5 points to Gryffindor.
Mariana and Belle: You both did exceedingly well in your actions in the class. You participated to the fullest of your abilities, and you both came up with creative ways to catch the Billywigs. Your posts were of good length and were well thought out. I am slightly disappointed that neither of you roleplayed being stung by a Billywig, because I think that had potential for entertaining roleplay, but you did well nonetheless. 25 points to both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
See you all next class.))
