Class Four - N.E.W.T.

Another day, another class. Professor McCoy had replaced professor Emof, who had work in the Ministry, not a long time ago. He liked teaching, especially Transfiguration. He had done some teaching jobs before, but Transfiguration was always his favorite. He wrote his name on the blackboard and sat on his desk, waiting for the students to arrive. He also waved his hand and wrote the title of today's lesson - Non-verbal Transfiguration - Rodents.

Arthur entered the classroom and took a seat in the front row. He greeted professor McCoy and then smiled, seeing the title of today's lesson. Bloody brilliant, he thought and prepared for class.

Mariana's mood was changing very often these last days.One day she was depressed and the next she was already angry at the entire world.She walked inside the classroom murmuring something that sounded like "Morning Professor..." and sat down in the most distant corner of the classroom trying to avoid whole world if possible.She just sat motionless without speaking another word...

Julia walked into the Transfiguration classroom and noticed only Mari and Arthur, she looked up to Professor McCoy who was over at his desk. "Morning, Professor McCoy" Julia said brightly. She was feeling oddly happy this morning, and she wasn't sure why, but it felt great. Julia sat down at a desk in the middle of the room and read the board, her eyes widening as she saw the word "Rodents". She shuddered lightly, remembering how disgusted she was of rodents.

It was easy enough to make her way to Transfiguration, seeing as it was on the upper levels of the castle, and thus Amelia was among the first students to arrive. Although she was tired, Amelia managed to hide her weariness as she entered the classroom. Transfiguration was one of her better subjects, so she expected she could make it through the lesson without letting on how little sleep she had gotten lately.

As usual, Amelia knew the other students in the room but wasn't exactly on familiar terms with them, which left her a wide range of seating choices. Knowing there was no escaping him anyway, Amelia took a seat behind and slightly to the left of Arthur Severus, immediately pulling out her books and absorbing herself in them to avoid having to talk to anyone.

Elizabeth made her way through the crowded hallways, slowly but surely. Seriously, did this first years multiply over night? Part of her wanted to start elbowing people in order to get to class on time but deciding this would probably be socially unacceptable, she decided against it. Besides, she wasn't really going to be late so it would have been overkill. After having her toes stepped on not once but twice she finally found herself in front of her classroom.

Once she walked in she couldn't help but roll her eyes. Another new professor. Go figure. Not even bothering to scan the room for familiar faces, she took a seat at the desk which was closet to the door. Her heavy bag produced a loud thud as it collided with the floor.

Dora made her way through the corridors, keeping her head down. She was tired and just wanted to skip out on classes for the day. This didn’t seem to be something she could avoid though. Spending the day with the Thestrals wouldn’t really be a productive way of spending her time. She could have been doing anything and she didn’t care – she could have even tried sleeping as long as she wasn’t in class. It was a difficult thing to do – to try and muster some energy to be pro-active in classes but it was useless. Insomniacs weren’t meant to attend school – it didn’t work.

Dora opened the door of the Transfiguration classroom and took her seat, deciding on one at the back of the class. She put her bag down under her desk before taking a book out. She opened the book up and began to read, deeming it a useful thing to do before class began.

''Mr. Poe, good morning. I trust you are well. Miss Lyons, I do hope the same for you. And let us not forget Miss Traverse.'', McCoy said with a smile. He then turned to Amadora. ''Miss, have we seen each other before?'', he asked and then turned to Mariana. ''Miss Diggory, what has happened? Why the long face? You were always cheerful? Anything serious?'', he asked.

Mariana looked at Professor McCoy.He used to make her laugh with his sense of humour before, but now she just looked at him motionless not really sure what to answer. "Doesn't matter Professor...i don't wish to talk about it.." she said not feeling angry or happy just depressed not really caring about how pathetic she looked.

McCoy made a dissatisfied face and walked to her. ''The rest, take your books and read about today's lesson. I will be with you in a moment.'', he said without even turning around. He took the seat beside Mariana. He bent a little and approached her with his face. ''Now my dear, would you be so kind as to tell your dear professor McCoy what is going on? I do dislike, and to say very much, seeing you sad and grumpy? What has happened?'', he asked with a low voice.
