The night was beautiful, too beautiful to spend inside. Then again, he rarely spent time inside if he could help it. Once inside you were alone with your thoughts and they could never be trusted. Things always changed when you were left with just your mind to keep you company. This was how Elijah found himself, alone in the common room with conflicting thoughts plaguing him in his conscious state.
Nachash had gone out to find something to eat and exercise herself no doubt. She was getting huge and Eli wondered if she’d find a mate soon. The only problem was he didn’t think there were any other snakes in the Hogwarts area. He didn’t think anyone had unorthodox pets like he did. He missed her, though, and it was getting lonely in the common room.
So, Elijah left the warm comfort of the Slytherin Common room and travelled outside to the Owlery where he hoped to find his wayward snake. He pushed open the door of the Owlery and pulled his leather jacket tighter around him. For once he was starting to rethink his casual dress and wished that he had followed his father’s advice and bought some decent coats.
Eli stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He looked up and saw a girl staring out of one of the windows. He was beginning to wonder if he always had to find girls in the Owlery but that didn’t matter too much – it was something he’d look into later. This one looked troubled though. Eli sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He wasn’t good with emotional things but he handled it better than most guys. The only problem was that when people got sad and began bawling their eyes out he’d manage to do the same.
“Um... are you alright?” Eli asked, finding his voice at last.
