N.E.W.T. lesson 3 and 4

Arthur turned to Mariana. ''Morning there. Actually, I find it rather amazing. I could finally put my knowledge to use, on that subject.'', he said with a smile.

Mariana looked as Arthur said it was amazing. "I don't see anything amazing about it though we'll see.She is not planning on using them on us is she?" she asked insecure looking with one eye at Professor and with other at Arthur.

"Good morning Mister Poe and Ms Diggory.That's 20 points for Gryffindor and Huffelpuff for being here on time." Gabrielle said as they took a seat. "First news is that from now on i won't be taking notes as i used to." she said as she got up and took her wand putting a jar on her desk.

"Today's lesson is about Unforgivable curses.Now who is going to tell me first of them?" she asked scanning through the classroom.

Danny raised his hand having complete knowledge of this subject since he has to fight them all the time. It was getting quite annoying to have to be hit by Crucio or something. He kept his hand up high and saw his was the only one up. Oh boy.

Arthur looked at the boy. Why does he not speak? Well... his loss, he thought. ''There are three of them, professor. First, the Imperius curse which enables someone to control the mind of another person, which, according to the book, has to be weak minded. Although, that is a mistake, because a skilled wizard can control the mind of any other, unless they are peers. The person does not necessarily have to be weak minded.'', he said. ''The second is the Cruciatus curse which is characterized by a red light that is fired from the wand. It is the pain cure and causes extreme pain through the complete body. It is connected with emotions. The stronger the emotion is, the stronger the pain.'', he continued. ''And finally, the Killing curse or Avada Kedavra, characterized by a green blaze. It is the most dangerous of the three and its the only one instantly fatal. Why? Simple, because it kills the victim instantly, in a matter of moments, but it is painless.'', he finally finished.

He then turned to Mariana. ''Well, I have had the pleasure of dealing with them and they are fun. And no, she will not use them on us'', he whispered to her so only she can hear him.

Amelia’s attention was drawn to professor Delacour as she began the lesson for the day. She was surprised at the professor’s first announcement, for Amelia found it difficult to believe that the woman who had always been so vigilant about her notebooks would decide so suddenly not to take any notes at all. Amelia did not object to the idea – it would be easier on her mind to know that she wasn’t being constantly observed and notated – but it was slightly curious.

I wonder what sparked that decision… Amelia wondered as the professor moved to the front of the desk and asked the first question which would begin the lesson. The question was not overtly complicated – nearly everyone knew the unforgivable curses by NEWT level – and though Amelia could have answered it, she was not particularly keen on drawing attention to herself at the moment. She had been more outspoken than usual in classes lately, so she was pleased when Danny, a Gryffindor boy in the year above her, raised his hand to answer the question.

But of course, Danny never got around to answering because before he could be called on, Arthur Severus Poe decided to open his mouth and provide not only one of the unforgivable curses, but all three of them, essentially taking away any potential for multiple students to earn the approval of the professor or points for the houses. Although his answer was correct, Amelia still could not help but roll her eyes at the know-it-all-ness of the Gryffindor boy. Amelia had never personally met Mr. Poe, but from what she had observed in class, Amelia doubted very much that the two of them would get along.

Claire walked toward the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Last night, she was pretty excited to go in this class but she wake up late. Here she was now, walking fast. Why does she need to be late now. She was pretty sure the professor is going to docked some points on her house. It's all her fault. Finally, the classroom is there and she entered it. She walked slowly in an empty seat.

Gabrielle listened to Arthur's answer though she wasn't particulary pleased by the way he answered. "Mister Poe didn't you see Mr.Thompson had his hand raised?Next time please raise your hand first.Nevertheless that's 10 points for Gryffindor." she said trying using sweet tone at first. "Now Mr.Thompson tell me did you ever had any kind of expirience with the Imperius curse?" she asked Danny so he wouldn't be too annoyed about Arthur speaking on.

Albus noted everything down, he had been to slow to raise his hand to answer the question. The unforgivable curses were an interesting subject, though he already knew a lot about them.

Belle had come in and taken her seat at the mention of the Unforgivable Curses she shivered...it had been only recently that she had been kidnapped under her own doing thanks to the Imperius Curse. But she slowly raised her hand and waited to be called on to give her own feeling on that curse.
