Robert opened the door of Khaat's house and smiled to himself. He closed it behind himself and took his coat off, making sure to hang it up on one of the hooks. He walked into the kitchen and found the girls in there. He smiled at Miseria and nodded to Emily who Khaat seemed to have adopted into her house with everyone else. Resisting the urge to chuckle, Rob snuck up behind Khaat and wound his arms around her waist. Rob leaned down and kissed her neck, idly wondering what kind of response he would get but what ever it was didn't bother him as long as she didn't attack him with some kind of pot.

"Good evening, Miss. What are you cooking for me tonight then?" Robert whispered, kissing Khaat's neck once more.

Khaat smiled. She turned around and kissed him. "Pot roast, and quadruple chocolate brownies with homemade ice cream. I hope you're hungry." Then she added softly, "You don't know how much I've missed you. It's nice having the kids here, but I sure do need a more grownup kind of evening, at least from time to time. I'm glad you're here."

"I knew it." he chuckled after kissing her back. "Despite wanting a child menagerie you hate them just as much as every parent in some strange love kind of way. Besides, there is only so much whining about homework and teachers you can take. I want to smother Jinx every time she opens her mouth. The brownies sound great though." he smiled and kissed Khaat once more before releasing her.

"Hmm," She laughed, "I wasn't supposed to be that transparent. You know, you should give Jinx her own room here so that when you stay here, she has a choice as to whether she wants to come or not. There are more rooms now, you know. Not that I am planning on filling them all. I just don't have the heart to turn out someone in need. Do you want to open a bottle of wine for the two of us? There are a couple chilling in the fridge. Pick whichever one you want."

He smiled and walked over to the fridge. He opened it up and twisted the necks of the wine bottles so he could see the label and finally picked out a bottle of red. He opened one of the drawers and took a corkscrew out, preferring to uncork it the old fashioned, Muggle way. Rob opened one of the cupboards and took two, long-stemmed wine glasses down. He uncorked the wine and smiled at the popping sound it made. Rob poured out the wine and picked up the glasses. He handed one to Khaat and smirked at her. "To your growing brood, my love." he chuckled, clinking his glass gently against hers.

"Thank you," she smiled, taking a sip of the rich red wine. "I have something to show you. In my study. It may interest you. My father just sent it to me." She went into the study, motioning him to follow.

Robert followed Khaat with his wine in hand. He wondered what she meant but followed her all the saem. What did Remus once have that would interest him so? "What is it?"

She took a key from her desk drawer with her left hand, waving the study doors shut with her right hand. She moved a small stack of books on the bookcase, and unlocked a door in the back of the bookcase. She withdrew a small package and a stack of leather bound books.

"These are journals my father sent to me," Khaat said. "They were in my uncle's posession, and when he died, my father got them. They do involve you. They are none other than the journals of Sirius Black. It seems your ward, Jinx, is a direct descendant, a granddaughter, of Sirius Black himself. It's all here. I thought I should show it to you first."

"When you get over that shock, I have a gift for you."

"Wait, what?" Rob put his glass of wine down and took the first book off of the pile. He flicked through it and stopped on a page that seemed to have more references than others. Remus spoke of Sirius often it seemed and they shared a bond that couldn't be ever broken but was damaged beyond repair due to the death of James and the betrayal of that scumbag they were friends with. It was then that he spoke of someone Rob was familiar with. Louisa Mitternacht was someone he was acquainted with when he was younger and his grandmother spoke often of her. Robert closed the journal and scowled. There was so much he didn't know.

Just how much was that bloody idiot hiding by the time he finally popped his cloggs? How much was Louisa hiding from them all as well. However, they were dead so there was no way of knowing.

"Alright." he said finally. "Will this be less shocking?"
