What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Diagon Alley - A strange place full of wonder Empty Diagon Alley - A strange place full of wonder

Post by Baldric Pierson Fri Dec 18, 2009 10:59 pm

Robert didn't quite know what possessed him to leave his bed that morning and go to Diagon Alley. Maybe it was the promises of Ice Cream and strange things that could be bought for just Sickles. Robert knew it was the promise of Strawberry Ice Cream that got his blood pumping. As much as his mother scolded him and his grandmother poked chocolate in his face he continued to go for strawberries and other fruits reduced to ice and slush - it was something no one seemed to understand.

Robert tapped the bricks with his wand and they formed an archway that took him to the colour which was Diagon Alley. Robert almost instantly veered off towards the Ice Cream shop, ignoring the offers of brooms and flying cars that the wizards these days seemed to be obsessed with. He didn't like flying cars, he was more of a wheels+ground=speed kinda guy.

Rob opened the door of the Ice Cream shop and smiled at the server. He picked out two big blobs of strawberry Ice Cream with a dob of vanilla on top and was given a bowl which he was told would float back to the shop when he was finished. He didn't particularly like the thought of his food floating away but paid and left the shop with his ice cream which was now drowning in strawberry sauce and sprinkles.

Oh, it would be a good day most definitely.

Diagon Alley - A strange place full of wonder Empty Re: Diagon Alley - A strange place full of wonder

Rosalie went to Diagon Alley. She was suppose to meet Robert Dent, but she also wanted to check out some brooms. She got to the broom shop and a paticular one caught her eye. It was most beautiful to her. Rosalie wasn't like most girls at all. She wasn't the one to be worried about her hair and nails constantly. She was a go with the flow kinda girl. She then saw Robert out the corner of her eye. She smiled as he was eating ice cream. He was always eating ice cream. She walked over to him. "I think you got some on your chin there."she laughed.

Robert couldn't help but smirk at Rosalie. His hands left the bowl of Ice cream and it floated away back to the store. Robert took the ice cream off of his chin with his finger and licked it off before smiling wolfishly at the young Malfoy.
"How are you Miss. Malfoy?" Robert asked in interest.

He hadn't seen Draco or Lucius Malfoy for a while. He hadn't ever spoken to them before and didn't particularly fancied doing it either. Lucius intimidated him - leaving his ego just ever so slightly bruised and Draco was just unapproachable from his point of view. However, the little Malfoy had always intrigued him seemed wonderful to be around. She wasn't harsh or coarse like her father or grandfather and seemed to have better views - ones that couldn't have been influenced easily.

"Im fine." she said. Her father spoke of Robert Dent a lot, but they rarely see each other now-a-days. I never saw the reason why, he seems like a nice man. she thought. She looked up to Robert Dent as an older brother. He looked out for her well, she felt safe with him. "So what brings you here to Diagon Alley today?"

"Apart from Ice Cream?" Robert raised an eyebrow and chuckled. He'd escaped the clutches of his grandmother this morning who was hell-bent on keeping him in the Whitlock family manor for the rest of the month after telling him that he'd lost weight or something. She then proceeded to make breakfast which consisted of a lot of meat. Robert winced slightly at the memory and wondered honestly what his grandmother thought Vegetarians ate because after he pointed out his preference for veggies and pasta over meat she proceeded to make a lamb stew that apparently he had to go home for.

However, Robert's little apartment in London was sounding nicer by the second in the kitchen but thankfully (after telling his grandmother a little white lie) he'd escaped the house and took off for Diagon alley.

"My grandmother forgot I was a vegetarian again." Robert said finally. "It's bad enough the house is full of all my cousins that haven't got anything better to do than try and flirt with me but even my own mother forgets my food preferences. My grandmother has an excuse - she's really old, but it isn't very good if my mother forgets to be honest. The comforts of home are great at Christmas but it isn't as if I want to be there all year round."

Robert smiled thoughtfully and wondered how many presents he'd need to buy this year. The list seemed to be growing and the house had an never-ending expanse of rooms. He wondered if he should just scrap the whole idea and return to his apartment for Christmas Day and wallow away the day with a good book and a glass of Fire Whisky. It sounded tempting but he knew he'd have to go to them or they'd come to him. It was one pesky day out of 365 that all of the family had to be together.

"What are you doing here, then? Surely Narcissa isn't as forgetful as my grandmother." he smirked and ran his hand through his permanently windswept hair. Robert blamed it on the amount of time he spent on a broom as a child but then again he wasn't really adverse in having such unruly locks. It was quite fun to play with when bored.

"Oh I'm just here to do some gift shoppin for my family." My father is always the hardest one to shop for. So he's first on the list." She looked around Diagon Alley to see where she should shop first. "Maybe he'll like a new suit. I think I 'll go to the dress shop. Would you like to help me?"

"Of course. I always found that Draco has specific.. gift choices." Robert smiled and held out his arm for Rosalie to take. "Shall we?" he asked with another smile.

"We shall. She smiled. She wraped his arm around "I think Madame Malkin's Robes would be a good place to start." She looked on the list of what her father wrote down. [b]"I'm not particularly sure what my father wants. He's very specific. Do you think you might know?"[b] She gazed up at him smiling.

"I agree." he smiled, leading Rosalie towards the dress shop. "Malkin's is the best."

He glanced down at the little Malfoy and couldn't help but looked for her father in her features. Robert found Draco easily but Astoria could be seen as well but only little flicks. The Black/Malfoy genes seemed hard to shake off seeing as most of the Malfoys were identical to each other.

Robert opened the door of the dress shop and held it open for Rosalie to walk through. He stepped in behind her and let the door fall shut before pointing to a rack of fabrics.
"Lets start with fabric. I know your father will want expensive but also nice I guess."

Robert walked over to the rollers of fabric and pulled a piece of dark velvety material out on the roll. He let his fingers caress the top of it before rolling it back.
“You look, Rose.” he smiled. “Your guess is as good as mine.”

"I really like that material. He's loves velvet. Now you'll probably be a lot better at this then I am. I'm not exactly sure what to ask the tailor. All I know is I think these to colors would go well together. His two favorite colors are black and green." Rosalie took the two fabrics and put them together. "Should I keep it or change it?" she asked.
