A crack echoed throughout the caverns of the underground lair as Lucius apparated. From further down the central shaft, he could hear voices echoing. Or one voice, at least. The sound puzzled Lucius. He was sure he'd told the children to work in groups. Perhaps the owner of this voice was merely more enthusiastic than her friends. After all, for many of them, it would be their first taste of real responsibility. Their first time holding real control over another person. Of course, Hogwarts taught that watered down version, the responsibility of grades and house points, but the responsibility that went with holding a life in your hand could not be learned at any school.
Except perhaps Durmstrang.
Striding into the chamber from which he thought the noises came, Lucius was taken aback to see his grandson chained to one of the stone walls. Surely Lyra hadn't started her little party already? But no, there were only two others in here. It was more likely the Hudson girl and Scorpius had simply gotten into a little squabble.
He raised a hand to indicate that no explanation was needed. At least, not from her.
"Scorpius, what is the meaning of this?"
