Making Better Friends ((Christy))

Lanie shrugged. She blew a small sized bubble, than tried blowing the tiny little bubbles in it that Christy has succeeded at making. No matter how hard she tried, Lanie couldn't get it to work. "Wow Christy, you're pretty good!" she said, laughing.

"Not really." she said looking at her. "I stayed rather bored as a child remember." she reminded her. A lot of her days she had spent in her parents offices reading while they were working on grading papers or ministry work on the days she was with her father. On the days she didn't go to work with them she spent her time with Godric. Their twined souls being the reason that she hated it when they went apart for school.

"That must have stunk." Lanie said. "At least my childhood wasn't that boring." Lanie gave a small laugh, as if it made anything better. The most exciting thing that had ever happened to her was being bitten by a werewolf, and that wasn't exactly a memory she liked or wished to remember. And of course, she wasn't going to tell Christy that. Christy may have been one of her closest friends, but she didn't tell just anybody that. The only people who know were her parents, who were repulsed at her for it, her grandparents, and the other werewolves and vampires she had met in the forest. The only time Lanie felt she could be herself was around the other creatures, deep in the forest during the night. Lanie sighed.

"Sometimes I wish life was easier." she said, making it sound nonchalant as possible. Christy didn't need anymore problems right now, what with Nick disappearing and having to particapate in the upcoming tournament.

"Don't I know it." she said looking at her. She wouldn't tell Lanie that she had also started seeing a twenty-four year old since Nick's disapperance. They were still engaged and she didn't want anyone to think she was a horrible person for it. She was just human and she knew when it would be time to move on.

"Why does it seem like when things seem to be going perfectly fine in life, everything gets messed up again?" Lanie asked. Her life had been perfect before she'd gotten bitten; she was going to be her third year at Hogwarts, so excited that she had gotten picked to be a Ravenclaw prefect; her dad was finally finding a job; her mom was pregnant with a little brother, who she knew was going to be perfect. And then BAM! She had to be stupid and go off into the woods, even though her parents had specifically told her not to; she didn't know the types of things that lurked among the trees and shadows. But ignorant as a thirteen year old was, Lanie had ventured off just to see what all the mess about the woods was. And then she had went and gotten herself bitten. Had finally understood why her parents always said to not go into the woods. But by then it was too late. The damage had been done.

Lanie sighed, and looked over at Christy. "I wish that this time, right now, could just be frozen in place. Not thinking about everything that's going wrong in our lives, just goofing around, trying to have a bit of fun." Lanie frowned. "But that could never happen."

"I'm sure there is a spell for it somewhere." Christabelle joked replying. Though she had seriously been half serious about it. They had spells and potions for everything except for reversing death although she was sure that there were some of those some where or had been at one point but they had been deemed dark magic she was positive of that. "How about me and you go out sometime, just get away from classes and all of that?" she asked looking at her.

Lanie thought about it. She needed to get away from all the pressures of Hogwarts and the students within it; she especially needed to get away from her werewolf side. "That sounds like fun." Lanie said, smiling. "When and where should we do it?" Lanie asked. She made a small mental note in her head, sticking it in the front of her brain where she wouldn't forget it.

"Maybe we should do it this weekend." she suggested, "Anywhere you want to go and we could have a sleep over at my parent's house back in Germany." she said smiling. She was glad she could suggest something to get their minds off of more than school and their private lives, plus she really needed to go home. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually spent time with her parents, or Abbey and their younger sister.

"A sleepover sounds nice." Lanie said, smiling. "And I'd like to meet your little sisters; they seem really nice." Lanie yawned, and stretched her arms up, feeling a bit sore about the run she had taken last night in the forest in werewolf form. "Maybe we could do really girly stuff, like paint each other's toenails, do each other's hair? Wouldn't that be fun?" Lanie suggested, giggling a bit at the prospect of having pink fingernail polish on her toenails.

"That sounds like a plan." she said laughing, "A night of facials and manicures and maybe some movies and popcorn fights." she couldn't help but laugh at that idea. It had been ages since she had had an actual sleepover and she needed some girl time. Hanging out with the guys was just getting a bit too much for her.
