Broken hearts and Like Minds (Christy and Marco)

"Well I know he's extremely interested in you and thinks that you are attractive." she replied to his question. She really hadn't known much about her cousin's past love interests other than the one who turned out to be a werewolf and she had last heard that boy was still in the hospital, if not dead already from his attempt to kill Godric.

"Delk is a very strange person. He doesn't show emotion often, even to me." she replied looking at him, "Though I do know that he does want me to find out about you even though he is mad at me. He told me with his eyes that night in the kitchens."

Marco grinned at her reply. His whole face lit up, apparently he was more interested than he had thought. There also seemed to be a chance for the two of them. His eyes shone with hope. Gods he hated this! He had no control over it, he hoped for his future.

I was supposed to make you feel better, and you're the one giving me hope! His face was set in a mask; he could not keep the small grin off his features, nor the shine out of his eyes, but he was composed for as much as he felt on the inside. He still wanted to be there for her, and he had vowed he would be. He had never expected that he would get so much in return, considered only a fraction of it, but never thought it would be so much in his favor. I owe you much; I will be here for you when you need me, and I will help protect you when you need me to, daughter of a diplomat, or second of an elite hunting group if you need me I will be there.

She smiled a little at his reply, "Why would you owe me anything?" she asked looking at him skeptically. "I've really done nothing for you to owe me anything at all except gratitude for me telling you a bit more about my cousin. But thanks for letting me know you'll be there when I need."

Marco looked at her honestly. Could she not understand what that meant to him? That she gave him more than he deserved? I meant it, and I owe you for being honest with me. You have no recourse to tell me anything, yet you revealed to me a lot. I feel for your cousin, I am interested in him. You gave me hope! That is more than i give by being your ear when you need to talk, or your weapon when you need my service.

He looked at her with a soft grin on his face. It was late, they had talked long into the night. It had been well worth it for him. He may be cold and calcualting, but he was also chivalrous. He felt better that she seemed to have her spirits mended for a moemnt at least. He wished there were more he could do permanently for her state fo mind, but not knowing the whole story he couldn't. But he owed her for her words, and for her friendship. Perhaps the first ever, but certainly in along time.
