What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Shacklebolt grumbled about this. "Well I'l show them... not interested.." he muttered darkly. He had expected more students than this. "Well were gonna have fun in this class, and learn of course. Today were learning about Hypogriffs, who knows what they are?"

Elv raised her hand. She has been waiting for this lesson since she read all about the magical creatures in the book and she really like to know more about them. "A Hippogriff is a magical creature that has the front legs, wings, and head of a giant eagle and the body, hind legs and tail of a horse. It is very similar to another mythical creature, the Griffin, with the horse rear replacing the lion rear. Hippogriffs have cruel, steel-colored beaks and large, brilliantly orange eyes. The talons on their front legs are half a foot long and appear deadly." she said mentioning the physical appearance of the Hippogriff.

"Very nicely explained," Shacklebolt said, impressed. She was just a first year after all. "Hypogriffs are moderately dangerous because of their claws and beak. However, they will not attack randomly, so they are given a XXX rating by the department of control of magical creatures," he explained. "Now follow me" he commanded, heading into the forest.

Abbey and Elv walked after Headmaster Shacklebolt into the forest. "I'm so excited! I can't belive we're learning abour hippogriffs!" Abbey exclaimed, clapping her hands.

Christopher knew he was late, which was embarassing, so as he walked over to the class - which was heading to the forest - he tried to act like he had been there the whole time. It was only his first class so the teacher shouldnt really take points from him. But you never knew with Shacklebolt. He followed the class into the forest, wondering what they were studying.

"Its ok," Shacklebolt said gruffly, they were all young after all, so he wouldn't take points from them. He led them to a small fence where there was a big hippogriff standing. "This is buckbeak." he introduced him.

Abbey looked in awe at the wonderful creature before her. It was beautiful, and quite frightening actually. She tried not to look at it's sharp talons, or the pointed beak. "Wow." she breathed, looking up at him.

"we have a couple hippogriffs in Hogwarts, but Buckbeak is the oldest and most well tamed," he explained impressively. "So does anyone want to come forward and say hello to him?" he asked.
