Class one - Owls

She was already in the classroom when students started to enter, she was looking over some parchments on her desk and decided to let them settle for a moment before she started to speak, Ariana’s idea of a first class was a laid back approach let the students know the rules, what’s expected but ease them in.

The classroom was nowadays a much brighter and cheerful place; a place she hoped would help the students have a much richer learning environment.

Ariana looked up and scanned her eyes across the classroom, lots of new faces to get to know.

“Welcome all, to a New Year at Hogwarts. My name is Professor Dawntouch your new Potions Professor.” As she was saying this her name was appearing on the board behind in an elegant scrawl.

Cosette loved being the first to class on the first day of term. She hoped it showed the teacher that she was interested and excited to learn. This, along with Transfiguration and History of Magic, were her favorite subjects. This one especially because of the difficulty of some potions, and learning how to make ones that could save people, or learning how to change things because of drinking a little potion. It made her tingle inside, and she hurriedly grabbed a seat in the front middle of the classroom.

Hafiz dash into the classroom. He thought he is the earliest but it seems that someone already there first. He just smile for greeting to the student because he do not know her. Later he wave to Professor Ariana and straightly taking his seat.

Haley walked into her first class, nervously. She loved potions in Durmstrang but as she walked into the class shed groaned, she thought it was too bright and cheery, she enjoyed the musty old and dark look back at her old school. She looked around and noticed two other students, she thought she was going to be first, but at least she was still early. She looked at the other people and walked towards the boy, "Morning Haifz." She took the spot next to him.

Ariana tapped her wand against the desk and blue sparks flickered from the end, she smiled.

“In these lessons we will be recapping what you have learnt over the last few years but also learning new potions, today however I would like to look at a potion called the Draught of Peace.” She looked around wondering if any of the students had any idea what it was.

“Does anyone know what this is?”

Cosette's hand flew into the air. "It causes someone to fall into a deep sleep." She answered, smiling brightly.
She was quite certain she was correct, too.

Jacob entered the room and prayed he was in the right one. He walked in and took a seat. "Sorry I'm late, I'm still confused about my timetable" Jacob apologized. He took out the equipment for potions and sat quietly.

James Wake was a quiet individual. Even though he had a good, remedial understanding of potions, he didn't like to stand out. Still, he wrote on his page the basic ingredients of the potion, beginning to pull out everything he had. He kept an eye out on the rest of the students.

Was potions in Hogwarts all about theory? Lab work? Would they actually make the Draught of Peace?

James carefully lined up everything he knew was in the potion, and pulled out his textbook to check it over.

[[OOC: Improvise making the potion just dont over do it ]]

“That is a good guess, but the draught of peace is used to reduce anxiety and soothe agitation.” She looked around the class and then went and sat in her chair.

“We are going to be making this potion but first I would like someone to tell me some of the ingredients.”

((He's been learning magic for the last 9 years. He has a rudimentary understanding of Potions, such as the ingredients, but can't mix well... Draught of Peace is difficult because everything must be put in an exact order, or else the potion will not lead to satisfactory results.))

James raised his hand, and prepared to give the first three ingredients he could think of. "Whitesweed, Beetsroot, and Lemon Juice for better flavor."
