Ability Desired:Seer, Apparation, Non-verbal magic, Occlumens.
How your character got this ability:
Apparation: Neve attended all practice sessions and practiced in her spare time also until she did the test and passed.
Non-verbal magic: In her 4th year Neve was taught non-verbal magic by her older cousin so that she would have an advantage when dueling.
Occlumens:Because Neve is a very sensitive person, people find it easier to get into her mind. When her aunt realised this one holiday she asked Neve's uncle (who was very accomplished at Legilimens and Occlumens) to teach Neve how to block out unwelcome visitors. He tutored her for 6 months until she finally got the hang of it.
Seer:Though Neve is a muggleborn, her (muggleborn) greek great great aunt on her mother's side was a witch and famous seer. She was very well known for her clear visions and accurate predictions and often predicted big events such as earthquakes and storms which made her very useful in difficult times. She enjoyed being a seer and saw seeing as a gift so she let her life revolve around it. In the end she saw her own death coming but did not tell anyone until she was on her deathbed so that she would not be treated any differently.
The seer blood seemed to have stopped after she died as none of her children inherited her gift and all her siblings, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews were ordinary muggles and none of them had any magic abilities whatsoever. However, when her grand nephew married a witch the daughter they had began to show a low seeing ability. The seer blood had shown itself after two long generations. This child's visions were not clear though and she did not make many predictions. The few predictions she did make were very minor and not that significant. When she was six her muggle father left her mother and emigrated to England, taking his daughter with him, and remarried a muggle. The two had a daughter who was also a muggle.
When the seer grew up she had a son and a daughter and her son inherited the sight. His visions were slightly clearer than his mother's and his predictions were more accurate but they were no way near as clear as his great aunt's. His mother taught him how to control his visions so that they had no strong effect on him and so that he could ignore them if he wished. He enjoyed being a seer however and so he accepted his visions and did not attempt to stop them.
Seeing as the rest of the family were muggles, no one was expecting what happened next. When the muggle half sister had a daughter (she had a son before but he was just muggle) and that daughter grew up to be a witch everyone was surprised. They were even more surprised when she began having visions at thirteen. Her visions were nothing like her aunt's and cousin's however as they were much more clear and vivid. She was as strong a seer as her great great aunt had been. But even though Neve was overjoyed at being a witch like her aunt, she was terrified of her gift. She hated having visions and had frequent nightmares of what she saw. She was extremely close to her aunt and so her aunt decided to teach her how to control her visions and block them out if she wanted to. Some of the stronger visions and predictions couldn't be ignored, of course, but Neve found life much easier without her visions constantly frightening her and began to slowly accept what what she was. Her visions are still her biggest weakness though and she is still scared of them but not as much as she was before.
