Alice mumbled

"Someone..." she said. She felt her face go red. Why had she whispered it out loud. But the funny thing was, she would have thought that this girl knew Ben. He had been here for some time. But didn't matter. She told herself inwardly that she couldn't let the girl know any more about him.

"Well," she said drawing out the word, "This Ben," she sneered the word, "must be someone important. Who is he?" she asked with a malicious gleam in her eye. Who would she be hiding from her? Her curiosity was peaked. She smirked at the girl. "Who is he?" she repeated.

"Expelliarmus!!" Alice shouted. Yeah, it may not be a big deal, but it might be to Ben. She wasn't going to talk unless this Slytherin ((and probably death eater)she added) girl made her. And that , Alice thought, was rather hard.

Vanessa swore loudly as her wand flew out of her hand. She quickly scrambled to get it. She could tell this girl wasn't going to talk. She tilted her head and studied the girl's face. She probably thought Vanessa was a death eater. Vanessa was one of the few students that hadn't joined Voldemirt. Vanessa had considered it because both of her parents were but she didn't want a skull permanately stuck on her pretty little arm. But, she still thought Voldemory had the right idea. "I'm not a death eater if that's what you think," she said.

Alice wondered how she could have known she was thinking that. But her shoulders relaxed a bit, she wasn't a Death Eater. Good. But Slytherin all the same, and most Slytherins at least agree with Voldemort. So her wand was poised. He had been happy with disarming the girl the first time, and was prepared to do it again.

"What's your name, anyways?" Alice asked.

"I'm Vanessa Nott," she said calmly. Her eyes were still on the girl's wand. She repressed a laugh. She told the girl she wasn't a death eater and she was still ready to hex her. "And who, may I ask, are you?" Vanessa pulled out her wand and pointed it at the girl. If she was going to do something Vanessa would be ready.

"Alice Longbottom." she said firmly. She inwardly cursed herself. Why had she said that? Now Vanessa knew her name. 'Here comes the name-calling' thought Alice. She didn't know if she would be able to control herself or not. Blood traitor really set her off.

"Ah another Longbottom," she said with a gleam in her eye. "I didn't know there were more of you blood traitors," she sneered. She laughed.

'That's IT!' thought Alice. She pulled out her wand again.

"Stupefy!!" she shouted, twice, for good measure. At this point, she didn't CARE if Hufflepuff lost any points. They were already 2nd place anyways. She normally would have cared. She hoped neither her parents nor Ben would hear of this.

"Protego!" she shouted at the same time she yelled the spell. She wasn't going to get stunned, not now. She may not be the best year but she was at least a bit older than her. She would not let herself be beat by a Hufflepuff. "Oh I seem to have struck a nerve haven't i?" she asked.
