To be corrupted... (Tom)

Sterling entered the dungeon, sulking. He could never, ever go public with his relationship with Chase... he dindn't mind much, but he was tired of not ever getting any sleep, sneaking late at night into the Room of Requirements to sneak a few precious moments... if only his parents weren't muggleborn... if only he could find some way not to be questioned about his lineage!

He punched the stone wall of the dungeons and regretted it instantly, his eyes watering and his knuckled bleeding.

Thomas had been watching the younger boy for a few minutes from a distance in the shadows. A look of pain was in his eyes, confusion and a sense of longing seemed to be plaguing him. Then he punched the wall, giving Thomas all he needed to know, the boy was troubled. Something was bothering him, and it was bothering him to the point of physical harm. Quickly, Thomas made his move. He came from out of the shadows and walked stealthily up behind the boy.

"Why do you waste all of that rage when you could use it to your advantage?"

Sterling looked at the Slytherin, amazed at his sudden appearance. "I'm... I'm not angry about anything." Sterling lied, trying to push the thoughts of Chase out of his mind.

Thomas just laughed at him and he reached down to grab the boys wrist and lift it up so Thomas could see his knuckles. "Really....these knuckles say different." Thomas released his wrist and he pushed himself against the wall in front of the boy "Tell me then, what is it that bothers you." Thomas was not sure if the boy would trust him or not, but for some reason Thomas had the ability to have people trust him, he was not sure why but for the most part, until he gave reason not to, people trusted him even though he was a Slytherin.

Sterling normally wouldn't have confided this magnitude of a secret to anybody, ESPECIALLY a Slytherin, but he was so upset the words spilled out. He didn't mention Chase by name, not wanting to betray her that much.

"I met this person that I really like... as a friend." He started to say, he figured he would try to eliminate suspicion. He made teh decision to pretend it was a wizard, not a witch, to throw him off further. "He thinks I'm cool, but my parents... er, don't have the purest blood. So, his parents wouldn't approve of us being friends. But I don't have any friends, and I want to spend every moment with her..." he stopped. "I mean I want to hang out with him every once in a while, but if his parents find out, they'll lose their job, so we can only, er, hang out in private." he said. He hoped he didn't give him anything that leaked information, but inexplicably, he trusted this Slytherin.

Thomas listened to the boy and understood his predicament. Thomas had never been one to judge people by their blood, even though the Dark Lord only wanted the purest of bloods in the Death Eaters, something Thomas strongly disagreed with. He knew plenty of witches and wizards who were powerful despite their blood, so Thomas never judged based on that. But if this boy ever wanted to become a Death Eater, he would have to hide his heritage, something Thomas could help with.

Then the boy slipped, he let Thomas know that it was a girl and then it all made sense to him. He was wondering why he had been so upset about not being able to hang out with another boy, but now the whole situation seemed to make sense to Thomas, and he grinned. That feeling of love was so strong and could carry so much weight that Thomas was almost certain this kid was a shoe in.

"I understand, that is a tough situation." Thomas was quiet for a few seconds before he decided to speak again "What if I could offer you the power to rid yourself of this situation? The ability to almost make her parents go away, like they were never there?" The boy was weak right now, his mind was very fragile and Thomas was sure he could manipulate it to his will. "What if I could offer you the ability to spend as much time with your... friend... as you needed?"

Sterling's heart leaped. "Is there a way?" he asked desperately. His thoughts were on Chase. He imagined her bringing him home to her family one day... where he was warmly welcomed... no longer scum on the bottom of a pond, but a true, a noble pure-blood. He was ready to do anything... embark on a dangerous quest? Definitely. He would kill to spend more time with her... his Chase...

He remembered his dream. He imagined himself as the handsome man dancing with her... she was smiling up at him... happy and unashamed of him... he smiled at the thought.

Thomas knew he could transform this kid. He was still young and his mind could still be molded, just the way Thomas would like for it to be. His lust for getting this girl at whatever means necessary was only a bonus. Thomas smiled and said "Yes, there is a way. There is always a way to get what you want. The difference between me and you is this: When I see something I want I take it by any means necessary. When you see what you want you wish you has it. You say it is out of your reach, but I will tell you that nothing is ever to far away to have."

"Don't you agree that people who think that if you aren't from a pure blood family then you aren't worth it, don't you think they shouldn't even be allowed to speak. Heck, from my point of view I don't even think they should be able to live. People like that are a plague, a waste of space. They don't see the world fully like me and you see it, they just see black and white. They see whats there right in front of them, but they don't see whats around them. Those people, they don't deserve to live."

Sterling turned the idea in his head. A world free of racists... he envisioned it. He and Chase were being married... her mother was gone, imprisoned temporarily. It was just him and Chase. He didn't care of his lineage in the fantasy he was having. He was just holding Chase, who held him back, tears of happiness streaming from her eyes.

"They don't." he said coldly, with more anger and contempt put into words than he had ever expressed before.

Thomas grinned even broader now, but he quickly removed it from his face and replaced it with a look of seriousness. "With the power I can offer you, we can eliminate all of those people. We can get rid of the racist and all the evil that they produce, and then you can spend all of the time in the world with your... friend."
