Alice tried to smile but her bunny mouth was too small. Danny looked like he understood that the squid was friendly. He even touched him! Alice transformed back into a human, checking to make sure she had clothes on. She did. She turned and smiled at Danny.

"Looks like you've made made a new friend." Alice said, grinning.

Daniel grinned back and continued to stroke the giant squid, thinking of a name for him. "I'm going to call you Squidward" he laughed, stealing the name from a muggle television show. He looked at Alice again and held out a hand for her to take it. "Come on touch him." Daniel told her, waiting for her to take it.

Alice laughed. She knew of the Muggle television show. She had watched it before Howarts. She took Danny's hand and touched the squid.

It was really slimy and wet and a little bumpy, but it was kind of nice. She stroked Squidward. He gave a small little sound that Alice recognized as a purr. She laughed. Squidward started turning his head. Alice was confused until she realised that the squid was looking for Alice in her rabbit form. Then Squidward looked and her and made a tiny little "oh" that sounded bubbly and cute. Alice laughed again.

Daniel laughed and patted the squid gently, giving him a sympathetic smile. "Maybe, next time buddy. I promise" he chuckled and pulled Alice closer to him and looked at her again. He smiled warmly as he could muster and smirked wildly at her, he never had this much fun before. "You like the name," he asked her laughing again.

"Yeah!" Alice laughed.

"That was loads of fun. But you have to promise not to tell anyone. Unless it's by owl to your parents or something. K?" Alice said. She thought she sounded quite like a little kid, begging her sibling not to tell that she snuck cookies from the cookie jar.

Daniel looked at her and laughed. "Alright, but can i ask why" he asked her. She sounded like a little kid, begging him not to tell their parent about something she did. He stared at her waiting for an answer and then back at continued on stroking the squid who was still searching for the rabbit

"Oh, well, parents don''t really like the squid. I'm not really supposed to talk about it.

When my great-granddad was at school a kid got killed by Squidwards great-granddad. He's not dangerous though..." she added, just in case he was worried.

Daniel stared at the squid for a moment, as a picture was painted in his head - he could see a student being attacked by Squidward great-grand dad. He shook his head to get himself back into the preset, then looked at Alice for a moment. "What ever happen to the squid and the kid" he asked her, his face showed interest and excitement at the same time

"Well, the kid died... and the great grandad married and had kids. But the parents filed out a lot of complaints and the person who sold the school the squiid was sued. I think it's in a book somewhere..." she said.

Daniel looked at the ground for a moment, listening to her whilst biting the bottom part of his lips thinking about something then looked quickly back at her. "Come on, let look him up in the Library" he grinned at her and then started to take one step toward her then stopped to wave Squid ward away. "Race you there" he asked her, smiling his infectious smile at her, showing his white pearly teeth at her.
