We don't like a lot of rules, especially as the returning alumni already know how we work, but, as in all things, we do need a few. Here are the high points.
1. Please be kind. We know you're going to get involved, and you're going to care about your characters and your plotlines. Good. We want you to. However, remember, it's a game. It isn't worth hurting or wounding someone in the process. We need you to be respectful to every other member on the boards and to participate as a team member. If you have an issue you can't resolve, ask us for help. It's what we're here for.
2. Watch the content of your posts, please. We do not allow exploitation of a character or of an issue that might alienate a player in some fashion, and for that reason we generally do not allow characters with mental health issues or developmental disabilities, etc., because they are sooo difficult to portray with the dignity, respect and inclusion that they deserve.
3. We are PG-13. Watch your wording. We do allow some mild swearing and some suggestion of sexual situations and some mild violence but be careful to not be explicit.
4. Please log in on a regular basis, reply to your posts as promptly as you can, and if you're going to be gone, please leave us a note in Comings and Goings.
5. Keep your avatars and sigs in the proper size. Avatars are to be no larger than 200 x 300, and sigs are to be no larger than 500 x 400.
