Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

If anyone is willing, I would appreciate the chance to discuss the newest installment, the Cursed Child. I have so many mixed feelings about it and I was hoping some of you had read it too!

Thank God it's not just me! I mean I realize it wasn't supposed to be a novel; and I'm hoping when I have the chance to see the play I'll like it more...but where the heck did Delphi even come from?!

HORRID book! It'll go on my shelf to never be read again. It read to me like they took the most widely talked about fanfic endings and put their own spin on it. Someone really does need to teach JK about when to stop writing a story. She's written well past the ending of this one. I'd love to see some other things done, but this really wasn't it.

She didn't write a word of TCC, though. She approved it and Jack Thorne wrote it. I think, as a playwright, he came up with great dialogue. But he doesn't know the lore like superfans like us do. She should've turned it down.

I didn't mean it as a correction so much as me being baffled. I could never turn my world over like that after so many years, y'know? Like, jeez.

well, exactly. rowling has done so much to discredit/second guess herself in so many interviews since the last book that this seemed to be almost a conglomerate of what fans had said they wanted to see sort of fused with some of her own misgivings about what she oughta/coulda/shoulda done differently in canon. its sad to see that, for some odd reason, she can't just shut it and let the canon stand for itself.
