Apollo had never intended to go out for any position other than the one he already had, but Clytemnestra's reaction lit a bit of a fire under him and made him sit forward. He was preparing to comment when Aideen did instead, perhaps not helping the situation fully. He did appreciate the vote of confidence, but he didn't doubt that the other girl would take it negatively.
To be honest, though, he wasn't sure what he had done to deserve the other student's praise, other than, perhaps, the fact that he was a year ahead of her? Apollo couldn't say. He didn't mind, particularly, though.
"I merely showed up to ensure that my spot on the team wouldn't be taken away," he informed her firmly. "You can choose to believe that or not, and I can't say it bothers me either way."
Turning towards their head of house, Apollo opened his hands into a gesture that suggested he was already exasperated. "Has no-one ever thought of doing co-captains? I don't even want it that much but if people are going to be annoyed, maybe that's an option. Or a deputy captain sort of deal? I'll do whatever's asked of me, but unnecessary drama is not my thing."
