(ooc: To get things moving and a bit more interesting, I'm going to jump to the start of their actual discussion. Anybody interested in joining is more than welcome to say their character showed up before Audriana started explaining!
)
There was a bit of waiting around, as was expected for the start of meetings like this one, but eventually everyone was gathered in the living room. Some sat on the arms of the couch or chairs, others on the floor if they needed to, while Oliver kept his post by the fireplace and Audriana sat in the arm chair next to him. They had organized it so the both of them could look around the room and see everyone at once, so backing up against the shortest wall in the room was the most convenient. They just had to hope that nobody tried to pop in through the floo while they were talking. But it looked like everybody interested was already there.
"I'm sorry that our meeting cannot be one of getting-to-know-you's and general chatting," Oliver started, trying to appear less grumpy than he really was. "But there are things happening that you all should be made aware of, so I hope that we can have a conversation about what we intend to do. At the end of the meeting, though, you should all be sure to congratulate Audriana on the recent birth of her twins," Oliver added with a small smile. She shook her head at him but seemed rather pleased nonetheless. However, there were other important things to discuss.
"See," Audriana cut in, taking over as they had intended she would, "for those of you who don't know, there was recently a Death Eater attack. A personal friend of ours, one Keiran Hayes, started a secret safe house for the students who had been forced out of Hogwarts by the law about werewolves being banned from the grounds. Those that proved they would not cause harm were given refuge, and he gathered people to teach them as though they were still in school. However, information was leaked - I will not say by whom." Audriana's gaze jumped to Christian, hoping he wouldn't realize that it was Ben who had ended up giving away the facts. Regardless of his having been influenced by Veritaserum, the truth had been given away, and Ben blamed himself.
"I understand that it might be irritating that I keep the information private, but I can assure you that the person in question is working with us, and is not associated with the Death Eaters," Oliver added, mentally noting that Ben had switched sides. His father's betrayal had ensured that.
"Exactly," She nodded. "But our point is that, the information led to the Death Eaters going after those students, and injuring Mr. Hayes. They may not seem as much of a threat as the werewolves, but I suggest we keep an eye on them nonetheless. The Death Eaters, the werewolves... even the Ministry all seem like threats these days. And while things may just seem worse than they are, we need people to keep an eye on things. It would be easier if we all assigned ourselves to a certain group, out of those three, and subtly tried to gather information about what's going on."
Crossing his arms over his chest, Oliver let his gaze float over each person in the room. "If you have a preference, or have any arguments about this, now is the time to say so."
