Welcome to Potter's Army

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1 Empty Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1

Post by Everly Bardugo Thu Sep 11, 2014 4:05 am

Although it wasn't going to be the very first class that she held at Hogwarts - that frightening event had already taken place, thank goodness - Adrienne couldn't help her nerves going into the lesson. It could be a bit of a mess if the students didn't focus on the topic. It was difficult, of course, to expect them all to manage to keep on topic during the first day of her class. It wasn't like the topic was dangerous at all, but rather that there would be plenty of distractions available.

Pursing her lips, Adrienne looked over to the cage that sat on the floor in front of the students' desks. All sorts of mess would break loose when that cage opened and she let the animals inside loose. She had a feeling, though, that she would be as amused as the students might be. The lesson was typically set for fourth years, but she hoped that it would work out for all involved without much issue. Besides, the classes were so mixed this year, she could hope that students would choose to help each other out. On that same token, too, Adrienne had been a student only the year before, and certainly had come to learn that people learned in different ways, and it would take several different approaches to ensure that she could actually teach each student what they would need.

They would be getting quite a shock when she opened the lid of that cage and the animals jumped out, but she hoped that her students would be amused with the topic that they would be covering for their first meeting with the new professor. Smiling, she moved to open the door so the students could just walk in when they showed up, then walked back to her desk and sat down to await the coming hour.

Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1 Empty Re: Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1

Post by Cecilie Montez Sun Oct 05, 2014 11:22 am

Cecile wasn't really strong in either Transfiguration or then Charms but she still liked to learn new things about thesw tqo lessons. It probably woukd be more fun if these two are compaijed. Cece had no idea how it would turn out or what will they learn here until lessons is over.

Girl soon walked into the classroom. She greeted the progessor and sat down somewhere. She saw now cages on the table and wondered what they will do with these animals what were in them. She knew that she will learn it as soon class starts but first they needed to wait everyone who needed to come into this classroom.

Sixth year placed her hand on the table and head on the. Ahe felt bored right now a little bit.

Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1 Empty Re: Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1

It was first lesson time ever for Ciara. She had to choose classes for herself now. It was harder than she imagined. She had no idea yet in what she was good at and in what she wasn't. She decided to try out Charms and also Transfiguration since these two were compained for first lesson.

She soon walked into the classroom and wondered what they will today in this lesson. She waa very excited actually. She sat down but first she greeted professot and other girl who was here. She now had to wait others to show up. She looked up at cage and wondered what they will do with the animals in there.

Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1 Empty Re: Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1

(ooc: If you join after this post, you're welcome to say you've been here the whole time, or to decide that your student is late)

When the first two students walked in, Adrienne gave them each a smile, not bothering to suggest where they should sit. Students would do better, she felt, if they were comfortable. And while she couldn't be sure that they would be okay with the topics - Charms and Transfiguration - she supposed that she could at least hope that they chose a seat where they felt at ease.

Moving to stand beside the cage that was now rattling a bit thanks to the animals inside, Adrienne decided that she could go ahead and start the first day's topic. Lifting the cover off of the cage, she frowned as she looked down at the guinea fowl sitting there. They were not the prettiest creatures, but she supposed it wouldn't matter once the students had properly cast the spell. She dropped the cover onto the desk next to the cage, looking back at the students again.

"Alright! So we'll be covering a spell that is a fourth year level incantation, but hopefully you'll feel comfortable with asking questions, yeah? The animals here," she explained, pointing at the cage, "are called Guinea Fowl, and they have a bit of a temper. They don't like to stay in place. So before we can work on that transfiguration spell, we need to slow the animals down enough that our spells will not be flying all over the classroom. We don't want to hurt anyone while trying to catch our birds, after all."

Walking around to the front of the desk, Adrienne flicked her wand at the board, watching as the words 'Arresto Momentum' found their way onto the surface in chalk. "This spell is a second year charm that we are going to try. Each of you should come up to the cage, pick out a bird, and practice the spell on them. You simply wave your wand and say the words, and see if your guinea fowl calms down. There is no need to worry, as it won't hurt the animal at all."

She waved the students towards her, hoping they would be curious enough to come and try the spell. "Take a bit of time to work on that. Once you've finished, you can get my attention, and I'll give you the next step!"

Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1 Empty Re: Transfiguration: Pod 2 - Lesson 1

Cecilie smiled at the new girl who she assumed was first year since she looked so young and she did also see her here first time ever. She did wave back to her, she could have said hey or so but she didn't want.

When professor began to talk she looked at her. She did listen carefully what Adrienne said there. She knew that spell but she really wasn't that good at it but she will give it try so she did walk in front of professors desk. She looked into that cage and did smile there. They seemed like very nice ones but yeah probably move around a lot. She never have seen such animals before.

She then did took her wand and pointed it towards the cage and at one animal. She did take deep breath. "Arresto Momentum," she did say after that she had waved her hand. It seemed easy since she did get it with one try, she also did learn it probably few years ago. She always could help some younger years if their in trouble.

Ciara did sit there quietly until ptofessor began to explain what they should do there now. She listened her carefully and hoped that she won't mess something up now. She really doesn't know how good she can do spells since it's her first lesson ever.

She saw how one older girl did it. For her it seemed quiet easy. Girl did take deep breath. She looked at the cages and then took her wand out. She pointed it at that cage then. She said the necessary words but first time didn't seem like anything happened at all. So she tried to second time too and it seemed luke it worked this time. She looked at professor did she succeed in it or not.
