Those bright blue eyes widened at the mention of dark magic, and she looked very very interested in whatever it was he had to say about the subject. A pair of eyes like those were the kind that were infinitely full of curiosity- and probably about things she'd be better off avoiding. Probably. She couldn't help herself, though. She had to know more. Her lips parted, as if she very much intended to quiz him on his knowledge of the Dark Arts- but before she could even muster a syllable, she was interrupted by the sound of another male's voice. This of course, sent her reeling into another shy silence.
For whatever reason, she found herself very slowly scooting so that she was standing farther back from the professor- Brice would now be standing somewhat in front of her. Her eyes darted to the potions racks, as if she very much intended to hide behind them. She felt more mousey than ever right now, but there wasn't much she could do about it. She'd been right about to explain herself, but Brice had answered before she'd even gotten an opportunity to. His excuse seemed to be saving her hide, which made her eyebrows nearly raise right off of her face. Why in the world would someone lie for her?
