MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Post by James S Potter Fri May 30, 2014 2:49 pm

There was a shake to James’ hands as he curled his fingers around the bars of the cell door. He shook himself briefly, trying to shirk the concerned stare of his childhood friend which he felt burning into him without repent. He looked up after a moment and raised a half-smile to his lips for Frank’s benefit, though it did little to ease the furrow of his brow. He sighed, licking his lips absently and turned at the sound of a soft reverberating voice. James’ eyebrows knitted together, disbelief riddling across his features for a moment as he ran his eyes across the boy who was just a man. It seemed as though some had just been brought down without the Spanish inquisition first. James would have preferred being spared it. Spared it all. Not when, now, he felt like he was coming down off of a Spice high, suddenly cold and empty feeling.

“They’re upstairs,” Frank spoke up for James’ benefit as the Potter man turned his eyes back out onto the hallway. He pushed himself away from the cell and James watched as Frank’s body language changed, becoming more open and expressive in that way the Longbottoms seemed to be gifted with at birth. Naturally good with people even if it was in their funny little ways. “So it’ll be a while before anyone thinks about us,” he added.

“They’re protesting the law,” James spoke up darkly, turning away from the door. “Frank’s right. The Aurors just want us in here. They won’t be too bothered about getting us out until they’ve filled the rest of these cells with the rioters. We’ll have a long wait left, unless you can pick a magical lock, Mr…?”

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Post by Kipling Parsons Fri May 30, 2014 9:16 pm

Kip and Yuri separated nd moved through the crowded cell, always keeping a keen eye out for the other in case the situation would arise that they would need the other. Yuri was the elder of the pair, so people felt much more at ease when he came to them squatting by their side as he placed a guiding hand on their shoulder. He would draw them in close and give them the reassurances they needed, before asking for their stories. A more perfect view - the men could never stop gathering data.

Kip looked throgugh them, settling near a young Hogwarts student. The girl was quietly whimpering, so he quickly explained her that she rights and that they would indeed be upheld. He held the girl until her sobbing was silenced and he looked about, handing her off the a dignifed woman in her thirties. The two women calmed themselves and began discussing a shared interest as Kip strolled off, in search of someone else.

He saw a miserable looking blonde woman and he dropped beside her, hesitating before slipping an arm around her. "Miss, I assure you, we are going to be alright. We have numbers here and there are numbers outside, and we will find protection in that." He attempted to give a bracing smile when he heard a voice. He lifted his head and saw Sophia Granger on the other side of the woman he had set out to console.

He smiled at her. "They got to me quite easily. I didn't put up much of a fight. Never did cooperate with the law, so I decided to cooperate now."

So people were here protesting the marriage law. It didn't seem a coincidence that they were protesting on the same day that people had been abducted without a word of warning. Clearly, if Alexander had figured right, they were protesting for their release as well. Or at least he hoped so.

'Nott, Alexander Nott.' The Slytherin introduced himself, extending a hand to shake. 'And no I - I can't pick a magical lock.' He added slightly crestfallen. Alexander was all about the magic, who needed to pick a lock when you had a wand? Granted a few wizards liked to master the technique but it was usually the muggle borns and blood traitors, a low level Alexander refused to stoop to.

'Do you know what will happen to us? Regardless of how the riot goes in the atrium?' The Slytherin continued to ask. Was this the phase before Azkaban? Were they all sitting and standing in the cold room waiting to meet the dementors? Alexander hoped not. Surely the ministry would talk to them, give him a chance to explain himself and make amends. The Slytherin desired a job in the ministry, he had just worked hard for months and sat his NEWT's, this couldn't be the barrier in the way to a fortunate pure blood life. It couldn't be, could it?

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Quick and painless. If only the world worked like that, but right now Henry was too high to care. Sure he'd thought against the aurors but part of that was out of fear and confusion... The marriage law. He'd heard about it, received a couple of letters but, like now, Henry had been high and if he wasn't high he was having withdrawal symptoms. He didn't care what some dumb ministry letter said to him.

'Quick and painless.' He repeated. That couldn't be true. Who would be willingly partnered with him? A drug addict, death eater with a concurrent trial at the ministry. No woman would stand for him, for starters he'd make a terrible husband and not a single woman understood him.

His eye caught Lily's hand. It still interlocked into his. Or maybe he had found his match. Could Lily be the one for him? Henry hadn't felt intimate towards a woman since Hallie broke his heart, ruined him, sent him spiraling down. He despised women. They were rotten to their core yet, yet Lily wasn't like that. Lily made him feel content with himself. Of course most of the time together he'd been high but she'd helped him escape St Mungo's and now here she was comforting him.

Clasping her hand tighter Henry smiled, his eyes gazing into hers before... He collapsed.

Lily had not meant anything by her gesture, really. She didn't think so anyway. She had really only meant to avoid her brother and to find some form of company. Henry looked at her with such emotion, that it nearly frightened Lily. It was human nature to be frightened of what one did not understand, and she had been in her shell of nothingness for so long that the passion in his eyes was quite unsettling. Passion for what, she could not understand. What emotion was he feeling? And why was it so strong?

He suddenly caught her gaze and gave her the most optimistic smile she had seen in a long time - and she saw Teddy Lupin every day. A pained smile crawled onto her own because she wanted to understand, but just... didn't. And suddenly, Henry collapsed onto her. For a moment, she thought it was a hug... or something. Her other hand lifted to his head, helping right it, before suspicion grew within her. She pulled him away and looked at his closed eyelids - his eyes were darting rapidly beneath them. Sign of a Spice overdose.

She swallowed and glanced about. "I need some help over here," she called. Her breath shortened. "Hey, I need help!"

An older man's attention had been caught. He glanced over and hurried over, kneeling. With a Russian accent, he asked, "What's wrong?"

"I think he's overdosing."

The man glanced about and then called, "Kip?" An attractive man a bit younger than the former stood. He gestured and the second man, Kip, gave a quick apology to his two companions before hurrying over. "What is it, Yuri?"

"Help me with him. Overdose."

Kip glanced to Lily and she nodded. The two men stooped and picked up the slumping figure that was Henry Yewbeam, dragging him through the cell. Lily jumped up and followed closely, anxious for Henry's sake, and frightened by what might happen.

Kip's keen eyes searched the hallway. "Hey, uh, Claire? Elsie? Someone? We have a wizard here in need of attention!"

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Post by James S Potter Sun Jun 01, 2014 12:12 pm

Alexander Nott. It wasn’t a wholly unfamiliar name but James couldn’t muster the strength to search for the connection in his mind, he merely mustered a smile and clasped his hand around the younger man’s, shaking his hand tightly before releasing it. He leaned back against the cell door, casting a tired eye out into the hallway. The blood in his veins really was beginning to cool now and as a shiver rumbled through him, James found he felt rather ill, though he endeavoured to not let it show on his face. He cast a glance in Frank’s direction briefly. He seemed to be the one with all of the information on the riot but he shrugged his shoulders all the same, his own eyes darting out into the hallway, watching the door. Neville would come. For him, though, James was doubtful anyone would come.

“Magical locks are a little bit different,” he piped up with a smile, leaning out an arm, twisting his finger into the hole. He winced a little as the magic reached out to burn him and he smirked, bringing his arm back into the cell. “They’ve got a lot more bite than they do bark. It’s a touch difficult. And without a wand…”

The sudden shout of his sister’s voice broke James’ words. He blanched as he looked around Alexander, catching sight of the man Lily had been sat with slumping to the floor. Frank’s hand clamped down around his shoulder and James looked up at the slightly taller man. James knew an overdose when he saw one. Unfortunately, so did Frank. James swallowed as guilt washed over him. The Longbottom man stared at James imploringly.

“Stay where you are,” he insisted.

A handful of Aurors turned around the corner and the two men backed off a little when the cell door was opened. Wands were held aloft warningly to anyone who intended to run. James swallowed and shook himself a little before crossing his arms across his chest.

“They’ll keep us here,” James informed Alexander solemnly. “We’re going to be exemplified.”

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Post by Alexander Nott Sun Jun 01, 2014 3:55 pm

Alexander watched as two aurors entered the cell and headed over to where a man had collapsed on the floor, why he'd collapsed Alexander wasn't sure but the Slytherin hoped it would allow them to leave, maybe the guards would take them for food in the staff canteen. Highly unlikely.

Exemplified. That was something Alexander Nott was never, he was never made an example of. If anything it should be him making an example of somebody, yet here he found himself, in some holding cell being made an example off in front of the nation. He wouldn't have to worry too much, if the Daily Prophet released a list of names stating who had been held captive he could rely on his Mother to exclude him from the list, that was if she wasn't mad at him. Would his Mother think Alexander's actions weren't justified enough not to shame him? Maybe. Regardless Alexander knew his Mother, she liked status and publishing her own sons name would tarnish the Nott family.

'So no Azkaban.' Alexander concluded, sighing with relief slightly. There was hope, he would simply sit here for a few days, maybe comply to the law to get out. In hindsight Alexander was rather angry at himself for not going to the meeting. Even if he hadn't been partnered with a pure blood he could have married her for marriage sake and claimed they were having fertility issues. The wizard would have no problem placing his wife under the imperius curse to make her go along with this, then when the law came to be removed, he simply lift the curse. Then again, how good was he at the unforgivable. The dark followers had practised it on each other for small lengths of time but that act of bewitchment would be longer than ten minutes.

Not really knowing what to do with himself Alexander continued to stand by Frank and James and watch as the aurors lay Henry on his side, checking his pulse and commenting about his eyes. An overdose. Well, that didn't surprise the Slytherin he did look as if they'd found him in an alleyway.

'He needs to be admitted to St Mungo's. His pulse has rocketed sky high and his breathing is too erratic.' The first auror noted.

'But they need to remain in a cell. We could just call for a healer to monitor him, unless we have any healers in here?' the second, more superior auror - judging by the badge on his uniform - replied calling out around the room.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

There was nowhere else to look but at the poor creature slumped on the floor. James had paled to the colour of blanched parchment that had yet to dry in the sunshine. Frank watched out of the corner of his eye, wondering if it had finally gotten through to the Potter man exactly what they’d all had to deal with in the years before James’ accident, before he’d forgotten and desired to go without the drugs that had ruled his life with burning regularity. Frank could recall countless times he’d had to break into James’ flat with Jack or with Teddy and Fred, when they found him half-alive and slapping him to life again did no good. There were so many times when they’d thought that was it: that they’d finally lost him. But there he stood, finally understanding, finally seeing what he’d done. What they’d all had to live through.

It wasn’t something, in Frank’s opinion, that the young Nott needed to see particularly, either. Lily kept her stoic vigil, kept her silence. Frank stood, his back against the cell door and he watched with hesitant eyes as the Aurors looked over him, bickering between themselves about whether or not to get him to St. Mungo’s. At the mention of getting someone in the cell, someone who was a Healer, to help him, Frank felt his lip curl involuntarily. It seemed as if the damn law was more important the life of a wizard. Albeit, Frank did wonder after whether it was deserved given what the Spice and the Pixie Dust did but he wasn’t prepared to not help someone just because they were stupid. He’d stood by James all of these years, hadn’t he?

Tipping his head over to the Nott boy, Frank smiled a little despite himself.

“Probably not for you, no,” he conceded. “You’re still salvageable – that’ll probably be their thinking. Not entirely sure about the rest of us, though. N.E.W.Ts, though, what’re you thinking about going into?”

He couldn’t believe he was making small talk given what was ongoing across the room but he had to do something to alleviate some of the pressure – even if it was only on himself for the moment. James was getting progressively paler and sicker looking. Frank’s shoulder was really beginning to smart. They needed a Healer full stop.

“Don’t be stupid,” Frank scowled at the senior Auror. “You’d have to give back a wand. Go and get a Healer. Now.”

Probably not for him. That was good, although in all fairness if the Ministry started throwing students into Azkaban there would no doubt be an uproar. In fact, to Alexander, it seemed the Ministry didn't want to send anybody to Azkaban, if they did then surely they would have done that already? Months ago? Perhaps the Ministry didn't have as much power as people believed. The power was in the people.

'I've always wanted a career in the ministry.' Alexander replied with a sigh, 'Although after this I've probably stopped any chance of that happening for not abiding by the law.' It was a risk Alexander had weighed up. Either follow the law, dishonor the pureblood name and find it easier getting a job in the ministry or don't follow the law, uphold the family pureblood legacy but cancel out any chance of a job in the ministry. Both brought about self gain and loss.

'There isn't really anything else I'd want to do. I'm interested in the Economy so I've been really driven into entering the Being Unit in the Goblin Liason Office. The again working in the department of magical accidents and catastrophe's would be satisfying or, ironically, law enforcement.'

Ally's words echoed in his head. She wanted to go into law enforcement and make a difference, scrapping stupid laws like the marriage law. If Alexander was going into the law enforcement squad he'd be doing it for the prestige, power and money. Ultimately his goal was to become Minister for Magic, or at deputy minister for the minister position would no doubt be too stressful.

MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell - Page 2 Empty Re: MASS THREAD : Ministry Holding Cell

Post by Sophia Granger Mon Jun 02, 2014 10:53 pm

Sophia was in the corner of the room and gasped as she seen Henry collapsed on the floor.  Sophia being the type of person she was,  didn't like to see anyone hurt or in pain.  But before she could say anything the senior auror was pointing at her.  " You!"the senior auror pointing to her making her jump as his voice boomed through the cell.  " You're a healer,  you heal him. "he spat at her.  " You know,  I have a name you know you prick!"Sophia hissed at him annoyed before getting up.  " Heal him Ms . Granger. " he ordered her.  " Oh yeah,  I'm sure I can heal him without a wand! " said Sophia sarcastically.

" What's your wand?"the head auror asked.  "Willow 11 inches,  Willow vines wrapped on the end of it."said Sophia.  As the head auror gotten her wand and un spellbound her he glared at Sophia.  " Don't get any ideas. " He spat at her handing her wand.   " Oh wouldn't dream of it. " Sophia muttered back before walking towards Henry.  " Ok... someone help me set him up. " said Sophia softly.

"Before I do him, anyone need any healing of any kind?"Sophia asked around the cell.  " Might as well kill two birds with one stone. " said Sophia honestly.  Turning back to Henry her eyes narrowed at him.  Of course he hurt her sister in law Maura,  but Sophia helped anyone who needed it.  Sophia saw goodness in everyone, even if they didn't see it themselves.   "Ok...let's get him better again. " Sophia muttered.   " Beware when I clear his airway he's going to cough it up. " said Sophia honestly.   "Rennervate!" as she seen Henry waking up and looking at her confused.  " It's ok,  I'm here to help you. " said Sophia softly but honestly.  " Anapeno! " said Sophia softly as she seen Henry coughing the drugs up.  " Keep coughing it up Henry,  you need to get it out of your system. said Sophia softly.

Sophia healed him and made sure he wasn't hurting anymore before she turned to the head auror handing him back her wand.  " See I kept my promise!"said Sophia as he spellbound her once again.   Rolling her eyes,  Sophia looked down at Henry she looked at him inspecting him.  He looked to be ok, Sophia healed him of anything that could happen to him.
