If Ana had ever been happier, it was hard to remember. Maybe the day of her wedding, when she and Pavel had been happy, was a good comparison. Her last meeting had come around and she couldn’t quite believe it. In an hour, she could go home, get a drink, and spend her Friday night relaxing instead of worrying about heading out to the Hogwarts grounds the next day or planning for meetings at the Ministry that next Monday.
Most of the meetings had been painful, and Ana couldn’t help but wonder if she had lost years of her life in holding them on her own. Even when she had been working with Elijah it had been a rough time. Then again, the Rookwood meeting had been one of the worst – perhaps not as bad as the Litherland-Connolly meeting, but extremely close. Even if this meeting went poorly, though, Ana wasn’t sure she would have it in herself to complain. It wouldn’t be her problem if either of them ended up in Azkaban due to their actions during the next hour. In fact, she probably wouldn’t even feel too very bad about it.
Then again, Ana Levski didn’t feel bad about most of the things she had done. Even the issue regarding Keiran’s father.
With a content sigh, Ana fell back into her chair, massively proud of herself for not only having done the research to start this whole process, but for actually having held thirty-four meetings in total without killing anyone. That had to be rather impressive to anyone, regardless of their opinion about the law. With a few minutes to go before her final meeting at four o’clock, Ana pulled out the last two files and settled in to look them over as she waited for someone to show up at the open office door.
