“Not to worry, Mr. Darling,” Ana replied lightly as he entered, “it appears that your match is also running late today. We’ll give her a few minutes in case something happened with the lifts or something.”
Although she did try to come off as patient, Ana was frustrated more than she cared to admit. She was going to be shoving them out the door if it made her next meeting run over time as well; she’d been doing too many of these things, and would be quite put out if she ended up stuck there later than she needed to be on her last day. Finally, far too late, the door opened again and a girl came in, looking rather frazzled and almost frustrated at her tardiness. At least Ana wasn’t the only one.
“Miss Tait? Yes, this is the right room for the meeting.” Ana nodded in reply, gesturing towards a chair, “Please have a seat; we’ll jump right in.” After waiting for the woman to sit, Ana sat up straighter in her chair and settled in to get to business. “Allow me to explain the next few weeks and what is expected of you. Firstly, you’ll have the next two weeks allotted as time to get to know each other. At the end of the second week, you’ll need to set a date for your wedding, which needs to happen by the end of thirty days. It doesn’t have to be anything huge if you don’t want it to. Just needs to be officiated and filed with the Ministry. After the wedding, you’ll be given three years to get settled in and have a child.”
Her words sounded painfully rehearsed, but Ana was just so close to being finished that it didn’t matter. “Do we have any questions about the timeline? If not I can go on with what we need to get done during this meeting.”
