(It's cool
)
Amelia entered the hospital wing and had laid Shane down on the bed, thankfully the nurse seemed more alert and awake than she had done the morning that Amelia had brought Bertie into the hospital wing. Hopefully the outcome would be different. Hopefully everytime she didn't enter the hospital wing with a student they died. Hopefully.
Amelia watched as the nurse got to work, whatever was wrong with Shane wasn't clear, much like the case with Bertie Nogard. Even though Shane wasn't a Ravenclaw he was her student and she felt some sort of bond with him already - even if she did have to constantly tell him off for bickering with Romeo Zabini. Naturally they would assume it was Romeo who did this and a part of Amelia was beginning to think so to. Perhaps Hallie was rubbing off on her living at the castle too?
'He has a pulse.' Amelia informed his friends as she reached to his wrist. 'And he's breathing, you can see his chest moving up and down.' She said this not to point out the obvious but in hope to calm them. They needed to be calm and sometimes in scenarios such as this people looked over the obvious, especially the good signs.
'Don't worry. He will be okay.' Amelia said looking down warmly into Maura's eyes. Maura knew her, hopefully she'd trust her. There was that word again. Hopefully. All people could do nowadays was hope, or at least that's what Amelia seemed to have been doing the past ten years or so since her husband had died. When you lose so many fights you begin to rely on hope rather than effort. Hallie was different. She was a fighter and that made her proud, proud to call herself Hallie Cooper's Mother.
'He'll be okay.' Amelia said once more, this time touching Maura on the shoulder and completely ignoring the warts. They weren't important right now, not to Maura anyway, she was more focused on her friend.
