Our astute reporters have noticed attempts by the Ministry and others to hide apparent panic and avoid the press for over a week.
The cover up began when aurors were seen dispatched en masse to muggle London in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, Aug. 22. Men who have been commonly seen as personal bodyguards of the Minister and the Chief Warlock appeared to already be present, and representatives from the press were removed and restricted from the scene.
Within minutes, a similar situation appeared at St. Mungo’s when Lupin family members and bodyguards for the Lupins converged on the hospital, and aurors appeared to be placing certain areas of the hospital in lockdown. The Lupins have not been seen since, and hospital spokespersons have told the Daily Prophet the Director and Chief of Staff are not available for comment. Further, in response to our question of the Lupins’ whereabouts, hospital staff have dodged the situation with a “No comment” on more than one occasion.
Our staff have also gone to the Ministry, and have attempted to make appointments with the Minister of Magic and the Chief Warlock, and we have been turned away with similar responses as given by St. Mungos.
We were surprised when we sighted two of the Lupin bodyguards accompanying Brian Quinn, chief security officer for St. Mungos and husband of Chief Warlock Khaat Lupin, at nearly midnight last night. Quinn was entering St. Mungos and appeared to be in a hurry. He was actively avoidant of us and our questions. He finally turned back to us and appeared to be under pressure as he responded to us, “This isn’t a good time. Leave my family alone.” The bodyguards blocked us from any further contact with Quinn, who entered the hospital and went into the sections that remain on lockdown. This reporter does not recall ever seeing Quinn using bodyguards for himself and questions if that is what we saw.
The Daily Prophet wants to know what the big secret is. Where are the Lupins? What was the emergency on Thursday the 22nd that drew so much security? Why was the hospital on lockdown, and why do sections of the hospital appear to remain so? Speculations are flying about whether there has been some sort of medical emergency in the Lupin household, and whether or not the patient is the Minister himself. We have posed the question to the Ministry and the hospital and, again, been told that there is no comment nor statement.
Does this have anything to do with the new marriage law that has been issued upon the wizarding world, and if so, what? Why is the Ministry and the hospital both so reluctant in giving us answers to even the most basic of questions: Where is our Minister?
