Earlier that day Hallie had sat through a grueling three hour auror interview and after displaying a wide variety of emotions the stress caused by the interview alone was enough to make anyone want to shot of pain-numbing alcohol. Knowing that it could take two to three days before she finds out whether she was accepted to train as an auror Ballie wanted to celebrate whatever outcome before she found out, which many would think rather weird. Hallie, however had her reasons: she didn't want to have a drunken, tearful night drowning her sorrows away if she didn't get the job - that was far too trashy.
After spending the afternoon with Maura and Kenneth in London her final chance to let her hair down and escape the trauma of the interview came later in the evening. She had visited the night club once or twice, usually attending less due to it's location being in Knockturn Alley, a place with a reputation for the darkest arts. Despite that Satan's was the best wizarding night club in the country and it was well worth the entrance fee.
At half past nine Hallie was ready. Rather than styling her hair straight with sleakeazy's hair potion she had used a Muggle curling iron and parted it in the centre before squeezing into a stylish, cleavage-hazard dress. She'd told her Mum she would be staying at Maura's that evening, meaning she really was planning to let her hair down and see where the night too her. Whether it led her to a handsome man's bed or back to Maura's. She wanted fun. A final chance to enjoy herself before being depressed for failing to secure the job or being too focused on her new job.
'See you tomorrow Mum. Love you.' Hallie said, giving her Mum a hug and a kiss before placing her wand in a matching bag strapped across her shoulder and apparating to Knockturn Alley, her Mother's words of 'stay safe' filtering in and out of her ears.
The alley was dark and lantern lit. The moon illuminated the cobbles before the concealed entrance to Satan's, which wasn't well hidden seeing as all the pre-drinkers were heading that direction from Diagon Alley's famous Leaky Cauldron. Showing her apparition license as identification and paying the entrance fee Hallie entered the cool club. Half of which was a bar and place where Hallie would be meeting her friends.
'Cherry Liquor with soda, ice and umbrella please.' Hallie asked at the bar, which was faintly lit in neon blue and green. Handing over the four sickles Hallie headed over to a booth halfway along from the door that was round and the seats were coated in dragon hide. Classy.
