Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Molz Weasley Sat May 18, 2013 4:54 pm

Molly listened to Darcy and Padril, her mind slowly becoming less focused. She wasn't sure what was happening, she tried to listen to Padril as he mentioned knowing Brian. Well, he knew Brian's reputation, but that wasn't exactly a surprise. A lot of people seemed to know Brian's reputation, from what she was gathering. Molly never paid that much attention to what people said, but as of recently it had been becoming harder and harder to stay ignorant.

Molly wasn't sure what Padril meant about his cheating, or drinking more to make things look like O's. She wished there was a fix for some of her grades. She didn't think learning about witches and wizards throughout the ages would ever be of any use in her life.

"Well, I think you'd have to drink a lot to make my grades look any better." she commented, not really knowing what she meant. She felt different, unusual. Her eyes were glowing blue, not that Molly knew that, of course. "If you have any way of making my OWLs go any better, do share." she added, aiming her comment towards Padril. She wished she knew something she could do.

It was then Padril mentioned his cup being empty, when Molly realized hers was also. She looked around, the room swirling in front of her. Confused, she tried to look directly at one thing. Then people went on fast forward around her, Molly started to worry. Then she looked back at her cup, realization finally dawning on her.

"Darcy, what was in that?" she asked, just as Brian appeared to be showing up. Then she remembered earlier Brian saying something about avoiding the drinks. What had she just done? Molly partly wanted to know everything, but part of her was nagging her just to leave it. She blamed it on whatever was in that drink of hers.

"Yes, I think everyone aside from her band of followers, or clones, is sick of her." Molly answered Brian, noticing he was already flirting with Darcy. She seemed to be noticing things. Brian flirting, some weird smell in the room, but couldn't make sense of what it was.

Darcy roared with laughter as Padril kept up the joke. She was so glad to be unlocking this joking side of him. She had always known he wasn't one of the uptight worry-wart students who never turned their eyes from their studies. But he was the one assigned to tutor her, so it was hard for her to imagine him letting loose and being sloppy with his grades. It actually made her all the more endeared to her tutor.

As he spoke of Brian, a boy appeared, claiming the name. She eyed him, jerking her thumb at him as her eyes turned to Molly. "This is the scoundrel?" She turned, smirking disdainfully at his words to her. "I'm not even close to tempted. And I'm not interested in liars." Her Scottish accent made this all the more impressive, and she turned her back on him. "Hmph."

She nudged Padril and Molly, asking them to turn with her. "Hmph with me!"

Mavis simply stood there waiting for a response. Nobody spoke to her, a few people began to cover their mouths with their hands and whisper to their neighbor, mostly nasty comments about Mavis' weight, hairstyle or the orange spaghetti stain down her shirt. Squeezing a porky finger into her earwax hazard ears she looked around the room. None of her friends were here. No magical creatures. No house elves. That was until her eyes caught the sight of Brian Sullivan and Molly!

'Molly! Brian!' Mavis sang as she waddled over to them, her sagging belly bouncing up and down, up and down, up and WHAM! Mavis had gone head over heels again landing at the feet of the Hufflepuff boy she'd spotted earlier. 'Ouch!' She gasped, looking around at what could have caused her fall. People nearby had erupted into fits of laughter and one boy in particular seemed to be being praised? Had he tripped her? Mavis didn't see it that way, she guessed that she'd slid on her shoelaces again.

'Sorry about tha-tha-tha-' BURP 'Ooof. That was loud.' She exclaimed, pushing herself to her feet and infecting the surrounding air with the scent of tomato and basil sauce from the food she had ate before arriving at the party.

Molly smiled as Darcy and Padril were laughing, not quite sure what they were laughing about, but didn't really want to ask. She was loosing concentration, though she wasn't quite sure why. Maybe it was the drink. That had to be it. Then Brian was flirting with Darcy, of course, which took Molly's mind off of the drink. For some reason it made Molly happy to have Darcy brush Brian off. Brian seemed to have enough girls around him, Molly thought his ego could do with a bit of a dent.

Then Darcy asked her to 'hmmph' with her. She wasn't quite sure what it would do, but she was still annoyed at Brian, and if it would get back at him, she was all for it.

"Hmmph." she joined in. Somewhere inside her this made Molly happy, it almost felt like she belonged here, an unusual feeling for her. She always felt so left out at any social gathering, it was a surprise to her. This must be what everyone else felt like, why they went to parties and all that. Molly never really understood it before, but was starting to think maybe they could be not so bad after all. If you found a few friends who weren't complete and utter jerks, that was.

Then she heard someone calling her name. Molly turned around, seeing Mavis. Molly never knew what to think of Mavis. The girls had been sharing a dormitory for five years now, but she still confused her. Mavis seemed eager to be friends with her, which was weird for Molly, since most people didn't care about being friends with her in general. Plus Mavis did have some weird quirks, like not usually in a good way. Just then Mavis displayed one of them, by burping in front of them. She wasn't all bad though, Molly thought, not liking to judge people.

"Hey Mavis." she greeted the girl, not even having to force a smile because she was already smiling! "You ok?" she asked, as the girl had just tripped over in front of them. Molly suddenly felt very dizzy. She half-sat, half-fell back into the chair where she had been sitting before. Luckily the book wasn't there, or it would have hurt. She tried to focus on just one picture across the room, to see just one thing and not confuse herself.

Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Brian Sullivan Sun May 19, 2013 6:47 pm

Brian was used to being rejected, it came with flirting with everything that moved, so he shrugged his shoulders and moved on. At this point he was just enjoying the social nature of the party, he loved being around other people, especially in a setting like this. It helped that he was the one who was throwing the party and everyone seemed more interested in him than normal.

His head snapped up when he heard a voice calling his name, it was Mavis, one girl he was not interested in at all. He felt shallow when he thought about it, because she was a very nice girl, but he just could not get over her looks. Then, she fell, and everyone erupted into laughter. Brian felt his face grow hot as he had seen the entire thing go down, and while he was not attracted to the girl, he still liked her. She had never been anything but nice to Brian and he would not stand by and watch her be treated badly, she was a member of his house, and as such she was promised Brian's protection. Even if she didn't want it.

It was most definitely the booze that was hitting him, but he did not care, he left the group without saying anything and marched over to the Slytherin who was getting praise for tripping her. He did not see Brian coming, which gave Brian the upper hand, and he reared his fist back. His lessons with Wally were going to pay off much sooner than he had expected. He swung his fist forward with authority and smacked the boy directly in the jaw. He did not see it coming and he dropped to the floor like a fly. Brian backed up and he looked at the group of people who were all looking from the boy back at Brian.

"Get him the hell out of here and don't even think about coming back." The commotion must have caused a scene because a bunch of Gryffindor's piled in behind him, having his back, the Slytherin's were definitely outnumbered. His face was boiling with rage, and he hoped they would retaliate, he was itching for a fight now, even though his right hand was throbbing from hitting him so hard. The Slytherin's quickly gathered up their friend and they made there way out. Brian stood still, looking around, the party had gotten much quieter. "FIFTY POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR!!!" Brian shouted loudly, thrusting his fist into the air, met by a loud crowd reaction, mostly from Gryffindor.

Satisfied, he turned on his heels, and he walked back to the group that he had just come from. "You alright, Mavis?" Brian said once he came back. "Don't let those bastards walk all over you, you don't deserve that." He smiled and gave her a pat on the back and he grabbed a bottle of whiskey and cracked it open, he was already drunk, but why not get a little drunker. "But, you do deserve this, no drink up. All of you." He smirked at Darcy, Padril, Molly, and Mavis before tipping the bottle up and then handing it to Mavis.

Mavis, who hadn't noticed that she had been tripped was slightly confused as to why Brian suddenly went charging at a bunch of Slytherin's then WHAM! Brian had punched one of the Slytherin's. Dam that looked nasty. 'Are you okay-' Cried Mavis in shock at what had happened, however her cries of concern to her bullies were drowned by the commotion of them being kicked out of the party.

What was going on? Why Brian was being cruel for no apparent reason simply made no sense. In Mavis' eyes he was cool and usually nice to her. Not overly kind but kind enough, in fact one of the kindest to her since nobody seemed to care for her.

FIFTY POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR! Brian cried. Mavis, confused as to what had just happened completely forgot what had just happened, her eyes turned to tennis balls in delight of the news. With a big 'Whoop!' Mavis began to twirl around in a circle, clapping her hands above her head and booty popping - only stopping to crawl a bottle from Brian and a beaker of punch that a house elf was carrying around. 'Thanks Bonsi!' She yelled to the elf before taking huge gulps from one drink then the other.

Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Padril Crennent Mon May 20, 2013 11:43 am

Padril was about to reassure Molly about her grades and recommend some books when Brian arrived, lightly touching him on the back. The Hufflepuff felt his cheeks flush. A short, cute boy surprising him and being friendly, plus the drink, meant he didn't react well. He mumbled out his name, pretending to incredibly interested in the bottom his cup. He could handle social interactions- he really could, but this had caught him off-guard. Darcy saved the day of course. Padril turned his back to Brian dramatically, raising his chin stubbornly as he 'hmphed'. With his back turned, he allowed himself to regain his composure. He was about to turn to Deas to say something dry and witty, when Mavis Oakes blundered into the room. She was a sweet kid who meant well, but she was obtuse beyond belief and Padril genuinely found her uninteresting, He grimaced when she loudly burped in the middle of the room, turning his back to her. He did not want to have to deal with her tonight, but he also did want anyone to see him being rude to the poor thing.

There was a loud bang and Padril pivoted to see Mavis on the ground, the people around her laughing. His heart melted, but he was torn. Mavis was clearly going to be okay and if he moved in too quickly, she'd know the trip was purposeful and would probably feel terrible. It would also target him out to the Slytherins. If he waited, he could talk to Mavis (ugh) and make sure she was alright without inflaming tensions. Just as he made his decision, Brian strode forward and punched the offending Slytherin in the face. As the Gryffindors cheered, Padril frowned with concern. A single drunken punch could kill someone very easily- the bully had not been in the right, but neither was Brian. If Brian had actually cared about helping Mavis, surely he would've gone to help her first instead of trying to prove his masculinity. Was he just showing off to girls? Was Brian really so vapid that he would be willing to do that? Padril entertained the thought, but dismissed it for the slightly less concerning answer; he was a Gryffindor with no foresight and a weird sense of honour.

"I'm going to go get a drink," he said suddenly. "I'll be back momentarily." Padril walked through the crowd, keeping his head down and moving towards the drinks tables. He didn't want to be in a position where he was socially obligated to congratulate Brian on how easy violence came to him.

Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Hallie Cooper Tue May 21, 2013 12:29 am

Hallie awaited Erika's response although it never came, she seemed to be in some sort of disconnected trace, Henri's speech most likely replaying repetitively in her head. The sound of the door slamming caught Hallie's attention. Mavis Oakes had arrived. She was aware that people had avoided having her come across the invitations, Mavis was somewhat of an awkward situation where catastrophe's seemed to happen wherever she went. Well the last thing this party needed was some drama although she could liven up the party and turn it into a good laugh.

'Erika?' She asked one more time. No reply, or before she could be given the chance to reply BOOM! The whole floor had shook as Mavis was tripped by a Slytherin. Now that wasn't on! Yes Mavis was a grubby, overweight oddball but no Slytherin picks on a student in her house. It was okay for Gryffindors to but not on this earth was a Slytherin going to get away with this.

WHAM! Brian -Oh gosh Brian- had punched the bully in the face and had him thrown out. Well, the drama with Henri was the cake and now this was the frosting. Surely the party can't amount to any more chaos? Not choosing to think about that Hallie stared at Brian. It was unlike him to defend Mavis, well it was unlike anyone to defend Mavis but maybe they were thinking the same thing? House unity!

A smile curled at the ends of Hallie's luscious lips. She hadn't had a drink yet and already she was growing more attracted to Brian. No. She had to keep a straight head, she wasn't going to grovel to Brian she needed to do that to him, she simply had too.

Hallie's heart fell. He was dancing with Oddball Oakes, Molly and a girl whom she hadn't spoken to. Was he making a move on one of them? Surely not the elephant in the room; Molly, possibly they were in the same year and on the quidditch team together, then tthe other girl was attractive. Had Hallie wasted time selecting an outfit and styling her hair to wow him. All of a sudden she felt like a wet flannel. Returning her drink to the table she walked off and strolled over to an empty booth cluttered with beanbags. Sitting down she gazed down at her feet. She looked like a loner, her friends may come over and pound her with questions but right now Hallie just wanted some tender loving care. The Gryffindor felt ashamed, confused and broken by, by a boy who didn't seem to notice. How she even fell for him she had no clue - that was the most worrying part.

Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Robbie Fairfax Tue May 21, 2013 6:02 am

Darcy looked up as a very boisterous girl approached. Darcy smiled, in the mood to meet anyone. The girl was tripped and, though Darcy's first instinct was to tackle the culprit, but she figured the girl needed attending to. She stopped to help her out, but the girl was already pushing her way up. Darcy opened her mouth to say something when the Brian boy went and beat the guy's face in.

"Whoa!" Darcy said, fist pumping the air in surprise. She watched as the boy had the bully thrown out and Darcy hooted with pleasure. "Serves him right!" she said, turning and nodding at the new girl, this Mavis.

Brian returned and Darcy held up a hand, "Grudge aside, you deserve a high give for the punch. It was a good hit." He offered the bottle and she waved, holding her other hand which held the neck of her rum bottle. "I'm covered."

Padril mentioned he was going to get more drinks. "Hurry back, lover!" she said. As he walked away, she let out a loud exclamation of, "Hate to see you leave but I sure love to watch you walk away."

For whatever reason, she felt like Padril was the perfect guy to flirt shamelessly with when she was drunk, while having no intention on doing anything more with.

She looked to the new addition of this group. "Mavis, is it? I'm Darcy." She held out a hand for her to shake.

Throwdown of the Century - Page 4 Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Vivianna Varnes Thu May 23, 2013 5:14 pm

Vivianna watched, leaning back against the door of the tiny room, as Henri downed the shot. The Slytherin wasn't sure what was going through the mind of the younger girl. If anything, the OWL student figured that Henri should be pleased right then. She'd destroyed Erika's reputation, and from the slump of the other girl's shoulders, Henri might have destroyed Erika too. Hopefully not though, Erika was interesting, and probably stronger than most might expect.

There were so many things she wanted to say to Henri right then, but the redhead knew that at least half of them would result in the conversation ending badly. Watching Henri silently for a few moments, Vivianna knew that she needed to say something.

"Look," the teenager said finally, "you don't have to talk, we both know that. If you want, I suppose I can be your supply of alcohol and drugs until you decide you can leave here. But really Henri, what was that?" Vivianna carefully kept her tone non-judgmental, she wasn't really one to talk, after all.
