Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

I very much doubt it's a democratic process. I expect it's rather underhanded and very much the Wizarding World is lulled into a sense of power over government while the Purebloods in the Wizengamot are controlling, truly, who is going to be in power. I think there are tiers of power with the common man not getting very much in the way of say as to who is in charge where, when or how.

I can personally say that my character was never voted in. He's Undersecretary (I don't know if that's typically voted for, as US government is different) but if it is, he was never officially voted in. He worked his way through departments, making friends who made recommendations. Helps that he's cozy with the Deputy Minister, too.

the only post we've ever even discussed ic re: being handled by elections is the minister's post. there are a lot of government where lesser posts are appointed by the minister/president. Or by standard hiring practices. We tend to use the "standard hiring practices" method here IC, whether that's canon or not. It tends to allow all players to be a ministry employee if they so choose.

Have at it. The admins have been working on a sort of skeleton idea of their own, but we'd love some player ideas.
