Katrina-Carlotta was not worried that she would fail, the way many did when attempting to tamper within the mind. The dark witch was a master of the Mind Arts. She'd been obsessed with learning them the moment she'd learnt of their existence. For a moment, the witch considered wiping Susan's memories clean, but then decided against it. Along with the two most common mind magics, the European had also conquered the art of memory manipulation. The Bones didn't even go to raise her wand, it was far too easy.

Entering the mind of the elder witch, Katrina-Carlotta began to quickly and efficiently alter Susan's memories. She would remember the duel, the fighting, the emotions, but Katrina-Carlotta herself would be nothing more than a blur. Retreating from the mind of the dazed witch, the younger woman promised herself that she'd send Susan an owl the next day. Susan was left holding her head. Damn, what had just happened? She was so confused. She could remember a duel. She knew she ought to go to Berlin Memorial Hospital for wizards and witches. She decided to wait for that. She looked around her kitchen. She’d have to redo the kitchen again. She sighed as she tried to salvage what she could.

Everything began to swirl and mesh together. Susan decided it was time to go to the hospital. She honestly had no idea what was wrong with her. She quickly wrote a note in case Ernie got home before she did. She told him she had thought she had seen someone and threw a few spells and realized it was only a shadow. A complete lie but it would be better if he didn’t know.
