A new life

New morning!

Nick woke up to see the movie from last night on the tv still. Quelyn was laying down on the floor in front of the couch. He extended his legs so he would stand in front of Quelyn. He went into the kitchen and began to make Sunday breakfast, which consisted of. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits. Monday was when he would send Quelyn back to Hogwarts. He would go back Tuesday.

Sitting up the young girl Yawned and stretched before looking around. Where was nick? The smell of bacon reached her from the other room and she got up walking into the kitchen rubbing her eyes. she looked at Nick and went over to him. "Good morning." She murmured holding her arms out to him like she use to her mum, in a universal sign of pick me up. "How'd you sleep?" She asked with another yawn and closing her eyes. She wasn't really hungry but she was unusually tired.

Nick picked up Quelyn. "You look tired sweetie. Lets go to bed and I'll wake you when food is finished. He carried her up the stairs and tucked her into her bed. Then he kissed her on the forehead which meant 'sleep for a while'. After he went back downstairs, he checked the food. It would be maybe twenty minutes before everything was done. He then proceded to clean up their mess from last night.

"But i don't want to," Quelyn protested her head resting on Nicks shoulder. By the time her head hit the pillow she had fallen asleep again. she rolled over on her side and curled up in the fetal position hugging her knees in her sleep. But her sleeping did not last long after Nick had left. Quietly she had climbed out of bed and padded over to the closet where she opened the door and sat in it once again facing the wall in the back of the small space and the door behind her, as she rocked back and forth her chin resting on her knees. she bit her lip as she did this though she never knew why she did it.

When food was done, Nick set up plates for them. When Nick went upstairs to wake her up, she wasn't there. He turned around and saw her in the closet, looking frightened. "What's wrong. You look afraid, saddened. Did I do something wrong" he asked worryingly. He stroked Quelyn's hair and kissed her on the forehead.

Quelyn turned smiling slightly at the sight and comforting actions of nick. "I'm fine," she whispered turning and wrapping her arms around him. She was fine and she saw nothing wrong with what she had done. To the young girl it was quiet normal to sit in the closet as she did. "Are you okay?" She asked him her arms falling away and she tilted her head to the side. "You looked rather worried yourself." She said quietly getting up off the floor and going over to the piano bench.

"I've lost one child. Maybe two. You are a child of mine now. I didn't want to lose a third. Anyway it's time for breakfast" he said softly. He thought of Quelyn as his own child now and didn't want to lose her. He went downstairs and waited for Quelyn before he would eat. He didn't feel like eating. Quelyn looked scared and frightened in her closet and it worried him.

She got up skipping down the stairs after nick. She climbed up in her seat at the table. "Ooh bacon!" She exclaimed picking it up and placing it on her tongue." Yummy." She giggled savoring the taste of bacon on her tongue. Looking up at nick the girl tilted her head to the side. "So what are we going to do today?" She asked smiling at him her eyes big with wonder and excitement. Pushing her hands through her hair she placed a piney tail holder around it holding it high off of her shoulders.

"Well I have to go to the store soon so when I get back we'll do something" he said softly. Quelyn had messed up her ponytail. Nick stood up after eating and rearranged it to a near perfect ponytail. He waved bye to Quelyn and apperated to the store. Nick figured Quelyn would be alright alone, he also needed time to think.

He had left her home alone, and Quelyn had no clue what to do with herself. First she gathered the dishes and started to clean then so nick wouldn't have to when he finally got home. It wasn't long before the kitchen and dinning area was spotlessly cleaned. She padded through what now seemed like a huge house, and into the living room, where the eleven year old picked up the remote and turned up the volume loud enough she would hear it up in her room.
Quelyn would have much preferred to have gone with nick, but she understood he would probably wish to have sometime to his self. So as the girl waited she once again sat in her closet where nick had found her not to long ago.
