Healing a friend in need

Kaleigh looked at Jimmy and smiled as he sat down. She took note that he was still being quite shy as he ate the sandwhich. "Does it taste ok?" She asked smiling softly at him as she drank some of the orange juice that she had poured for herself earlier. She wasn't much of a cook, but who could mess up a sandwhich? She watched him slowly, trying to figure out if she should wait until he finished eating to talk about what had happened to him or do so while they ate. "How are you feeling?" She asked deciding to wait until he had finished eating. She noticed he look particularily good in her dad's clothing and blushed slightly at the thought.

Jimmy nodded slowly in approval, busying himself with the tea and sandwiches so that he wouldn't have to talk about what happened to him yet. Gulping slightly when he realized he had finished, Jimmy took a deep breath. "I've..been um..sleeping rough" he said meekly, glancing at her occasionally. He couldn't help but notice that she was blushing too. This made him smile softly, though his muscles ached, he hadn't smiled in some time.

Not wanting to dwell on the subject, Jimmy spoke up quickly "So...uh, what have you been up to?" he inquired politely.

Kaleigh smiled yet again as she noticed he had finished his sandwhiches and his tea. She looked at her own plate with her sandwhich and smiled for what seemed like the tenth time. She pushed her plate to him and nodded to it. "Go on, I ate earlier anyhow, you seem very hungry." She said getting up and pouring him some more tea as well. "You do look like it." She said remarking about him sleeping roughly "I have been ok, just spending time around my house." She said drinking the rest of her orange juice.

Jimmy turned crimson as she slid her plate towards him. Do I really look that hungry?. He couldn't deny his stomach though, so slowly, he took her sandwich and ate it too, unable to stop himself blushing. "Thank you..." he murmured quietly. He grew even more embarrassed when she remarked on how he looked. Holding his cheek, he stared at the floor. "It's only temporary...I hope" he said, the last part muttered too low for her to hear.

Looking up, he became a little ashamed at how he had forgotten how pretty Kaleigh was. Biting his lip and smiling meekly, he sat a little closer to her.

Kaleigh smiled at him nodding to him "It's not a problem" She said as she watched him finish off her sandwhich as well. She noticed him biting his lip and sitting closer to her. She blushed a deep red standing up and offering her hand. "Come, let's head to the living room." She said pulling him gently from his seat and to the living room blushing the entire way there. She sat down on the couch patting the cousion next to her. "So, would you like to talk about what happened to you? You don't have to if you don't want too." She said looking at the floor shyly.

Jimmy was quite happy to be led around by her. The touch of her hand on his sent a warm shiver up his spine. Sitting next to her, he couldn't help but smile. He didn't want to talk about himself though. Shaking his head, Jimmy told her "Emm, it's nothing to worry about. I don't really want to talk about it. Yet."

"There is something I want to do though" he said quickly "and that is thank you...". Staring at Kaleigh, his heart racing, Jimmy leaned in and shyly kissed her cheek before retreating and staring at the floor.

"so, um..thanks" he said timidly.

Kaleigh nodded understanding "That's ok, we can talk when you are ready to" She said smiling at him softly. She then looked at him questionably. "Ooh..?" She said as he said he wanted to do something. She blushed a bright red as he kissed her on the cheek. She held her hand there staring at the floor shyly. "Oh." She said not thinking straight.

"so, um..thanks"

She heard him say, she looked at him, cupping his cheek with her hand making him look at her. "You are welcome" She said softly noticing that she was inches from his face, this thought made her blush even more so.

If Jimmy thought his heart was pounding before, it was nothing compared to how it felt now. His lips quivered gently as Kaleigh's face hovered in front of his. "Oh God...what do I do?" was the frantic cry of his brain. Jimmy had never been so much as been looked twice at by a girl, but yet here he was, mouth inches from hers and having already put his lips to her cheek.

He didn't know what had come over him, but it felt strangely right. As he looked into Kaleigh's eyes, Jimmy felt an unusual sense of confidence flow through him. Instinctively, he leaned forward gently, hoping she wouldn't pull away.

Kaleigh stared into Jimmy's eyes then noticed he was leaning towards her. She closed her eyes, a million thoughts running through her head at the moment. "Oh my god, is this really happening... Is he really about to kiss me? What do I do?..." The little voice in the back of her head continued to ramble like that on and on as she waited, not wanting too move, waiting for him to kiss her first. Her heart sped up and she felt sure that she was holding her breath in anticipation.

It all felt like a nice, slow moving dream, as Jimmy drew ever closer to Kaleigh. Not breaking her gaze, Jimmy gently pressed his lips to hers, holding them there, waiting for a reaction. His heart was hammering and his palms were starting to sweat. It felt as though all of his troubles melted away the second his lips touched hers.

Jimmy didn't care that he was on the run, he didn't care that he was a murderer. All he cared about was making this moment last forever.
