Closing for the night

Oded walked around the pub looking for anything he might have missed in the first time he walked the floor. He finished sweeping and moping the floor an hour ago now he was simply looking for any loose dishes that he didn't already pick up. He sighed as he raced back to the kitchen with inhuman speed and began cleaning the dishes quickly. Oded had already sent his bartender Tristan home for the night, he had to admit that he was a very hard worker. He finished the dishes, putting them away for the night and walked back out into the dining room. Going behind the bar he grabbed one of his colored water bottles from the fridge and drank some of the liquid. He knew it was gross to put blood in a water bottle but he wasn't going to go around and bite people to get his blood for the night.

Elizabeth needed a place to stay, and really fast. She couldn’t stand one more minute in the place she was staying for two reasons: She really couldn’t afford it and the woman in charge was driving her crazy. The only thing that woman would do was interrogate her 24/7 about her personal life “Why you don’t have many friends?, Why you left your house?, Why you don’t go out more?” All this questions were a daily routine and Elizabeth was tired of it.

So when she remembered that the leaky cauldron offered rooms she smiled. Packing her things, telling that woman she was leaving and actually leaving that place was the best decision she has made so far. At least that’s what she thought until she realized that it was already night time, it was really cold and she was wandering alone in the dark streets.

Once she arrived to the leaky cauldron she was cold and couldn’t help but let out a frustrated groan when she noticed that the place was close. Having a little bit of hope she knock on the door.

“What’s the worst that could happen?” Elizabeth thought “An angry owner screaming at you that’s the worst that could happen” was the answer her mind gave her.

Oded heard a knock on the door and walked over to the door opening it. He looked at the young woman and could tell she was cold. "Come in miss, let's get you a warm blanket so you don't get sick. I don't know why you didn't just take the Knight bus, it would have been better to take it. Let's focus on getting you warm first though cause i can tell that you need warmth badly." He opened the door wide and motioned for her to enter the pub.

She couldn't believe her luck when a man opened the door, and she felt even more lucky when he didn't scream or looked mad at her. Of course Elizabeth felt stupid when he mention Knight bus, but just forget this thought when she realized how cold she was.

Elizabeth entered and she stood awkwardly close to the door, she didn't know what else to do.

"I didn't took the bus because to be honest I didn't think of it... It was the heat of the moment I guess" She told him with an embarrassed laugh " Don't you know, by any chance, if there are rooms available in here?"

"Yes there are rooms available here, there's about fifteen still open. I'll get you a key to one of the rooms, have you ate already? Or are you hungry at all?" Oded said looking at her as he flicked his wand to some candles, illuminating them. In the candle light he looked pale and tired but he didn't feel tired but because he was a vampire he would always look pale.

"Well I'm kinda hungry to be honest" Elizabeth told him. When she finally looked at his face she froze. There was something kinda mysterious in him, and she couldn't tell what it was. But this wasn't the thing that made her froze, the way he looked was what shook her. He looked so tired and pale, and Elizabeth felt horrible because despite how tired he was, he still was offering her his help.

"But.. " She smiled and said really quickly " It's ok, I know how late it is, so you don't have to bother about me being hungry"

"Good i'll make you something to eat, and don't worry it's no trouble for me to fix you something to eat. Also don't worry I'm a vampire I always look like this," Oded said smiling softly at her. He led her to a large kitchen back behind the bar and pulled out a stool next to a very large island. "Alright sit down here and i'll whip you up something to eat." He pulled out a skillet and then started pulling out vegetables then pulled out a piece of steak. Oded was smiling as he was doing this, he loved to cook and and it gave him great pleasure to do so, but he knew that he could never eat it.

Elizabeth sit and was watching him work on the food with a bright smile on her face, she couldn't tell if it was because of the food or because the smile on the man face was really contagious.

"Thank you again, for everything" still with a smile on her face "I'm really surprise that you know how to cook! I'm not very good at that, my grandma tried a couple of times but I think that after a few tries she realized that I'm a lost case " she said laughing softly "My name is Elizabeth by the way"

"Your welcome. I read a lot of books and I took a couple of classes in cooking, most people have a talent for it but some need work. My name is Oded, it is a pleasure to meet you Elizabeth." Oded said smiling. He finished cooking the meal and put it on the plate making it look like it was a picture. "Here you go Elizabeth, it's one of my creations that I just mix up for fun."

Elizabeth's mouth couldn't been more open and her eyes couldn't been more wide "Wow" was the only word she produced in that moment.

"You .. That ... That's amazing" her eyes focusing on the plate in front of her. She took a bite of the food and she couldn't stop the noise that came out from her lips "Oh my god, this is so delicious!... My grandma is gonna be jealous if she find out "

She continued eating and eating but suddenly stop and looked at Oded" I'm so sorry, It's not that I'm rude or something like that, it's just that I haven't eaten something so good in a long time" she laugh "So what were you doing in here at this hours ? I mean I understand that you work here, but Its kinda late to be working. Your boss make you work until late? " Elizabeth finished speaking to take another bite of her food and waiting for his answer.
