Full Department Check In

Jack knew that the department had sort of fallen to the wayside when Zoe had mysteriously disappeared. Jack was not sure about the others but she, along with her interns who really had no say in the matter, had worked even harder when Zoe had gone MIA. She had even picked up some of Zoe's duties, and she supposed that was why she had been named the new head of the department. After rearranging her office she had sent out a memo to all the people in her department, interns included, and had scheduled a meeting.

And here she sat, waiting. She had extended the table so that everyone could fit. Teddy, Carnie, and Bernice sat at the end of the table, waiting patiently. Her interns had really grown past interns and were now more like her personal team. Teddy and Bernice spoke quietly while Carnie balanced a pencil on his nose. They were fun.

Zoe had been smart, but separating the specialist had not helped. Jack thought it was time to get them working together again, since the lines were often mulled or crossed when it came to jurisdiction, anyway. She watched each person enter and knew things were getting better.

Rosheen had been summoned to the Conference Room for the first time ever. It seemed that something was wrong. Well, something was. Zoe had gone missing. The Department was in trouble. At least Jack had taken care of things. Rosheen walked into the airy conference room and nodded to Jack and the interns. She sat down and conjured a cup of water. She was practically dehydrated. She took a long drink. She put the glass down and looked at Jack. She seemed a little stressed. Well, it would only be expected. Rosheen drummed her fingers on the table. Rosheen shivered ever so slightly. The room seemed to ooze tension. She looked over at Jack again. "So, what's the meeting? I know that there have been obvious troubles. But, what's the meeting about?" She waited for an answer...

Rosheen walked in and got herself settled. Jack did not say anything, but lifted her head to greet the woman she knew, mostly by association in work, even though she had seen more of Rosheen than she had seen of other people, who she would have thought she would see a lot of... But her thoughts were beginning to run together in a dangerous manner, so she steered them away from painful topics.

Jack's attention was drawn back to this world, however, when Rosheen commented to her. She looked up. "Oh, it's not much. Just getting everyone together so we can get on the same track."
