What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Zada merely smiled a respectful smile to Gellert. He deserved that, even if she wasn't able to warn him he was heading for a fall. She was starting to calculate in her own mind whether or not she could launch her own bid for control if Gellert fell. If she could pull out of the imperious by some flaw of Potter's, perhaps she might take Emof by surprise. Maybe. But that was about the longest freaking shot she ever calculated. She did enjoy the occasional gamble, but this bordered on the ridiculous.

Still the faint glimmer of independence did seem to be growing in the back of her brain. The spell was wearing off. She made a mental note that the Order members apparently didn't know how to cast an unforgiveable and thoroughly mean it. And that was the key. They had to mean it. Potter was just too damned nice. She wished she really could laugh.

Gellert listened to Emof's conditions. They were easy enough to do, really. Why could Emof not do those for himself? It wasn't like vampires weren't easy enough to find for a man who knew the dark world as well as Emof's reputation suggested he did. Horcruxes? Again, not difficult for a man who had made them before. But, there was the additional little complication for Emof that once resurrected, then it became progressively harder to have more of the soul left to divide to create an effective horcrux without losing something.

It was a bit like making a copy of a photograph from a copy of a copy. The farther one got from his original complete soul and essence, the more difficult it became to make an effective horcrux. Still, it was possible. The price was not all that steep, and besides, Grindelwald wasn't prepared to really pay Emof much of anything. He didn't deal. He did lie, though. Often and well.

"Delivery first," Grindelwald said dryly. "If your information is of quality, I might be pursuaded to help you."

The corner of Ne'Os's lips moved slightly though it probably wouldn't be enough to tip Grindelwald off that the next words he was a lie. unless he was watching for it. "Very well its not like our little alliance has been working all that well. I have observed a drop in my followers activity since then i know there is only one way to fix that. Jess and I decided that it would be best if we worked together totally. despite some minor disagreements it has worked. We are currently camped out in a abandoned section of the underground. There are about a couple dozen of us. The order outnumbers my people so you can imagine that destroying the alliance would be easy enough. Id even help you do it....That is if my prices are met." he said wondering what Grindelwald's answer would be.

He could tell the pivotal moment was fast approaching he was already preparing his strategy for getting out of their. He made sure to keep his mind of his ability to use wandless magic just encase Grindelwald was looking in his mind he didn't want to give away his most important card just yet..

Zada felt Potter's spell wearing off much faster now. She was outwardly stonefaced but inwardly she was pleased. She did not have enough of herself to take on Emof and win. Nor could she help Gellert, and clearly his grip on wizarding England was slipping through his fingers now faster than sand through an hourglass. She was feeling that their contract was coming to a swift and unexpected end right here in this room, right now. She had no desire to face off with Emof. All she wanted waas enough of herself to get the hell out of there. Well, and to grab Bubblebrains on her way out if she could. If she could snatch Mikki, she could drop her off at her uncle Isaac's and then move on to a more profitable venture herself.

She wondered if she was capable of voluntary movement yet. She concentrated on one tiny, insignficant adjustment of one of her fingers on her glass. To her delight, her flnger moved and relieved a slight muscle cramp. The relief of the cramp was nice. But doing it voluntarily was nicer. If she was calculating correctly, she was perhaps only a matter of a moment or two from being able to escape. And Emof would have to be far more concerned with Gellert than with her. Or at least that was how she saw it. She was not the biggest fish in this pond, and it was going to work out to her advantage.

He paused, thinking before he spoke. He took a thoughtful sip from his glass and said nothing for a long moment, his mind mulling over Emof's information.

"It is a bit unorthodox," he finally said. "But it would seem as that is what its prime advantage is. The unpredictability of it. But that in itself leads me to a question. When two enemies align, it normally is for a common interest. I do find it unlikely that you have suddenly all shifted to support the Order's core beliefs, and I find it just as unlikely that they now shoulder yours. So tell me then, Mighty Death Eater, who's side are you really on? What common good did you find to be sufficient enough to bind to polar opposites together?" He smiled at him, as if he were about to put the game in check, for better or for worse. "In short, do you side with me? Or do you still side for yourself?"

Ne'Os smiled his usual warmth he put into it was gone. His eyes looked empty and if he were still a vampire they would be pitch black "me" he said simply as his hand raised up his palm open and aimed at Grindelwald "Attonbitus" he snarled his voice being lost in a extremely loud clap of thunder. He was also blinded for a momment at the intense jet of light flew from the palm of his hand and at Grindelwald.

He knew the spell would be weak due to him not having a wand and probably wouldn't even hurt the dark wizard, but he was going to fix that. Hoping Grindelwald would at least be dazed for a moment he turned his attention to Zada "accio wand" he said not really sure if he would get his wand or her's. His only thought now was that he hoped he didn't attack to early. Though he felt that if he had waited any longer it would be him being attacked.

OOC: godmodding Gellert here a bit.

Zada felt anger when Emof took the elegant wand from her. There wasn't a lot that she was willing to fight for now, but taking her wand was not something she was going to take lightly. The spell he'd aimed at Grindelwald was not unexpected on her part but she now felt like she had her own control back. And she was just as sure that Potter had thought that might hold.

Gellert seemed to be only slightly stunned. That did make sense. Gellert had had to surely suspect something in order to even ask the question about where Emof's loyalties were. She watched Grindelwald's wand snap into the mighty wizard's hand and watched him take aim at Emof. His first move was to raise a powerful shield around himself. That figured. Self serving to the end. Never mind the women that did his dirty work.

He surprised her by using a spell next to return her own wand to her. She gladly snatched it from the air, and she aimed at Emof.

"He's mine!" Gellert ordered. Zada held her fire reluctantly.

So it was to come to this, then. An all out attack. And he did not think emof would come alone. He needed Forbes to have her wand. Clearly, Mikki was useless at the moment. He made his first move to return her wand to her so that he would have some backup if he needed it. He wanted to take care of Emof himself if it were just the two of them for the moment at least.

His shield raised, he now fired a blasting spell designed to throw Emof off his game for a moment or two. He began planning other spells to use. He preferred to make an example out of Emof if he could manage, rather than to just kill him so quickly. He needed to prove there was control in his regime and using Emof might actually manage to help him regain what he was losing.

"Once a mercenary, always a mercenary," Grindelwald cast a bitter smile towards his opponent.

By the time Ne'Os had turned back to face Grindelwald he already expected to feel a wand in his hand. Only, it never came. He had hoped he would have the extra second to receive it and start firing but it appeared his luck had failed him so far. And it appeared it would continue as Ne'Os was thrown against a wall as Grindelwald launched a blasting spell at him.

Dazed he knew that if he didn't stand he was done, and that his next actions would have to be carefully planned. He knew that if he turned invisible he may be able to fool Zada but Grindelwald would see right through the illusion. He also knew that Grindelwald's shield would be able to protect him from most of the spells that Ne'Os knew, and without a wand it would make the list even smaller. However the killing curse may still save him. The spell didn't have any variations in its power. He knew if it hit a object the object would explode or catch fire, and if it hit a person they would die. He also knew that no shield no matter how powerful the wizard was that created it would block it. The last thing he knew was that if he were to draw out the fight his chances of losing were very great.

He had two options try to confuse the dark wizard with multiple spells or simple try and kill the dark wizard now.

He stood and entered a combat stance both hands raised and in relaxed fists he opened his right hand aimed and said "Expelliarmus" as the spell left that hand he closed it again and opened the opposite and said "Reducto" as that spell left and closed he moved a few steps to the right. He let himself turn invisible wondering what effect that would have. He then made a violent slashing motion with his right hand as he said "gladius." His front turning emerald green for a moment as the flames and the other spells flew at Grindelwald's shield.

The first volley of spells were to test the strength of Grindelwald's shield. While not very strong the combo might stress it a bit. Finely having a chance to speak he said "Didn't Voldemort kill you? I guess when you came back and learned he was dead you were happy. How do you feel now knowing that the one that killed him was me?" he said smiling darkly preparing himself for the retribution that was bound to come.

Zada saw Grindlewald was not going to let her participate in this skirmish. This was not how she had wanted this to end. And she made up her mind, Gellert or not, this was not the last they would hear from her.

"Get out," he said to her in a low tone. She was not being dismissed. She was being protected. She took the moment to flick her wand at the whiskey glasses and hurl them directly at Emof's face while he was busy firing at Gellert. Zada grabbed Mikki's wrist hard, yanked her hard to come with her, and stepped into the floo. She took one last fleeting look at Gellert.

"Go!" he ordered her, never taking his eyes off Emof. Zada knew Gellert knew how to find her--if he survived. She tossed the powder into the floo and they disappeared in a flash of green sparks.
