Waiting

"Most people are very strong it depends on their tolerance for pain, he does seem very strong to hold up against wounds like these. I don't know when he will wake up but for now i want him to rest and as for you Sarah this hour is nearly over, i want you to finish your classes and you can come back after you've had dinner ok?" Calista said looking at her seriously. She walked up to Sarah taking the sheets and pajamas from her, "I will take good care of him I can assure you i am more than capable doing such. I will write a note to the head master so that the teacher know that he is in the hospital wing with me. Any homework he had i'll make sure he gets it and the section that was done in each of his classes." Calista then put them on the table next to the bed and started putting her things back into her kit and neatened up the area around Ryo. "Go to your next classes then have some dinner then you can come back for a little bit before you must go back to your dorm and get some sleep, he is in good hands." She said then walked up to Sarah scooting her out of the curtained area and towards the door.

Sarah looked down at Ryo for a moment and nodded. "I don't want to leave his side, but I guess I have to, right?" she asked softly. The girl knew that she would have to leave and she sighed. "I can get his work for him. We're in the same classes." she told the nurse. She would do anything for Ryo, and she hoped that by doing all of this he would like her more. Sarah leaned down toward Ryo and she gave him a light kiss on his cheek. "I'll be back later, Ry-Ry." she smiled as she said this. The Hufflepuff soon felt the nurse push her out of the consealed area around Ryo and she looked down at the floor, her bangs creating a sort of shadow on her eyes, covering them. "I know he is in good hands. When he comes to, if I'm not here can you tell him I'll he back later?" she asked the nurse softly, before she basically ran out of the Hospital Wing.

Not very long after she left Ryo began to come to, and he opened his eyes slowly. The boy blinked a couple of times and he looked around as his vision became less blurry. "W... Where am I?" he asked softly, not remembering where he was at all. He began to try to sit up, but soon found himself back down on the bed. His body was still a bit weak from everything that happened to him. So he remained laying down staring up at the ceiling, feeling his eyes becoming heavy.

Calista walked back over to Ryo's bed putting her hand on his shoulder and said softly, "It's ok Ryo your in the hospital wing. Your safe and completely healed i just need you to drink this last medicine, so that it will drive away the sickness the infection gave you. I want you to tell me the truth of how you came by these wounds when you've completely healed and i will know if your lying to me because i know these marks but i will allow you the chance to tell me." She took the glass from the table holding it until he nodded and say that he would drink it before she would put it to his lips.

At first the boy had a somewhat hard time remembering who the nurse was. Soon though he realized who she was and he acknowlegded that he was in the Hospital Wing as she had said. He looked at her hands when she told him he had to take another type of medicine. Of course at first he was reluctant to take it because is thought it was going to knock him out again, as the previous one had done. But when she said it waa for thw sickness the infection had caused he merely nodded and took the medicine. He had wondered why she hadn't asked him about the wounds, soon though he wished he hadn't even thought about it.

She wanted him to tell her how he had gotten the wounds, and his eyes narrowed somewhat. Ryo looked up at her and his eyes began to change color to a dull gold with the worry he was beginning to feel. He felt that is she saw his eyes change color then she would begin to ask about why and how they could do that. He really didn't feel like answering those questions so he immediately hid his eyes from her view. The bpt one that he had to tell her, so he made it easier on both of them and he decided to tell her. "I was in a fight with a pack of werewolves." he said softly and still a little reluctantly.

"Why were you in a fight with werewolves? I know what they are capable of and i know what they have done in the past. They could have killed you or worse, you could have still been out there bleeding and dying, why would you risk your life to pick a fight with them?" Calista asked as she had a flash back of her past when she was eight years old. She shook her head to clear it but she knew Ryo would think it was her shaking her head in disapproval. She put the glass on the table when he finished the medicine looking at him with seriousness as well as concern for his safety. Calista wondered if he would be safe to on the grounds anytime of day seeing as werewolves were very territorial and didn't like when someone fought them on their ground then got away. "What happened to the werewolves? They'll track you and try to harm you again." She said now with worry plain on her face.

Ryo sighed and shook his head. He lifted his hands to his face and covered his eyes, shaking his head once more. "I know! I know! They could'be hurt me far worse than they did, but I had too!" he exclaimed, still acting like he was a normal human. "I had too... I had to protect someone!" he added softly, lowering his hands a little to stare at his palms. "I had to protect her..." the boy ended, clutching his hands into fists. The entire time he spoke he kept his head down so when the nurse shook her head, he didn't even notice. His eyes turned a deep shade of gray from the sadness he felt at the moment.

He looked up at the nurse when she asked what had happened to the werewolves and his mind flashed a picture of the pile of snow that had buried the leader of the pack. He had completely forgotten that if she saw his eyes with a different color she would begin to wonder how that is even possible. "They won't bother me... The wind and new snow covered my scent. And their leader is dead." he said as if it was normal for him to say that there was a dead werewolf in the Forest not far from the school.

Calista understood completely when he said that he was saving someone, then she realized he said it was a girl. She listened more as he talked then sat down on the bed, "You killed the leader of the pack? Are you serious? What happened out there Ryo? Why did she need saving?" She stopped realizing she asked too many questions at once. "Sorry it's just I've never heard of anyone killing a werewolf who was an auror." Calista said again thinking of her past with werewolves and why she wanted to keep herself as far away from them as possible. The something he said caught her attention finally, "How do you know that the wind and new snow covered your scent?" She asked extremely curious now.

The nurse began to ask many questions at once and Ryo couldn't understand them all at once. His hands immediately covered his ears from what seemed to be fright and he looked down. He shook his head quickly at her First question once his mind processed it. "No, technically I didn't kill him. The snow did, he slammed into a tree and the snow fell on him, and he died of the cold I guess." he said, sounding like a confused human boy. "She was afraid. Werewolves killed her family and she couldn't defend herself from them, so I did it." he tried to explain, his voice shaking and cracking. When she asked how he knew the wind and snow had covered his scent, he sighed softly. "The wind was blowing hard and I know it carried away the scent that was in the air from us, and the new snow that fell covered up whatever could have been left." he told her softly. "Those other wolves must have already found their dead leader under the snow." He smirked as he said this, the vampire's thoughts invading the boy's.

Calista listened to him and looked at him dead in the face once he finished asking only one question, "What spells did you use to fight him? No one could possibly fight a werewolf with their bare hands, it's impossible." She looked at him wondering what spells he had done or if he really did fight the werewolf bare handed. "I have something in common with your friend, it's very similar to what i happened to me very long ago when i was eight." Calista didn't say much after that and she just looked at Ryo hoping that he would tell her exactly what happened that night. The only difference between Ryo and herself was that the werewolves didn't pick up his scent with the wind as well as the snow, but when Calista was eight they picked up her smell very well that night.
